Im 80 DK nice specced, decent gear, and every dungeon/raid i have ran im on top of the dps chart except for a couple times a friend of mine outdid me he is a hunter, and one time a rogue. I am averaging about 2000-2100 on the chart with an occasional 2400 with a good run. I have yet to be out dps'd by a class that is usually considered the highest on the charts. I was just wandering if someone out there well geared could tell me their avg dps and let me figure out what i need to do to continueously raise my dps. I have yet to see mage, which used to be one of the hardest hitters, beat me. anyway appreciate the posts if you can just gimme avg and your peak that would be great. Oh another thing i have been told i must run with noobs because i never get out dps'd on my server but then i ask them what they're avg is without saying mine and they tend to say about 1800 and then bitch that im lying when i say avg 2k..... and im actually shooting it a bit low i normally hit closer to 2100.

My warrior tank usually keeps the dps meters up just for kicks when he goes into heroics. Quite often, I see hunters at the top of the charts, followed closely by paladins, fury warriors, and mages. Usually, the hunters are at the 2100-2200-ish mark, and the dps on the other classes are usually at 2k or well below it. I don't pay much attention to any particular dps'ing tactics they use, but I do notice some hunters at the top are making the most out of volley in every trash pull of 3 or more. My warrior tank himself probably peaked at 1350dps on a heroic.
The peak dps on my rogue isn't as good as it could be given that he only dinged 80 yesterday and he's still mostly in level 73-ish quest blues, but on his first heroic (invited in by a guildie, so I felt less guilty about having the right gear) he popped as much dps as my warrior's peak.

No buddy i didnt mean it like that at all, currently i may be one of the best on my servers dont mean to boast at all im just saying either i pug in people who arent geared or dont know what they are doing, I do hit hard you want me to tell you i dont... i just want to know what the other dps is about because i only have seen hunters and rogues do better than me. I dont pug as many mages as i would like to but on avg its always 1500-1800. So either you hit no where near me or you really think im !@#$y. I spent alot of time mastering my DK its tough, and i was just wandering how the other classes DPS looks like at 80.

Ya thats what i usually see also, The hunter i was refering to is MM i believe and i think if he specced BM he would do much better he hits around 2400, Hunter by far is the hardest for me to keep up with. Also along with mages i dont see too many Warriors out there and if i do pug them in they always hit pretty hard. mainly i was wandering about casters. Are they not the highest dps any more? because i have a mage and i would hate to try and tank spec my DK and lvl the mage the rest to 80 if he can only top out at 2k

Something that people dont realize and needs to be considered about mages in heroics. First off the mobs die way to fast for the mage to do as much damage as melee. Secondly, most mages at level 80 are frostfire raid build which is built around long boss fights where there dps really shines.

Hunter's will no longer out-DPS many other classes, we have been hit hard with the nerf bat this patch, especially those with a Serpent Sting/Steady Shot rotation.
My gut tells me this is true. however,
spreadsheets
updated for the nerf only calculate about a 500 dps loss under perfect raid buff situations.
Now if Im sitting at roughly 4.5k in 25's (as I am) and I only lose 500 dps Im still sitting at 4k.
I can live with that I think. Wont know till it goes live obviously.
