Is there a AH in shattrat? Well it isn't and for the same reason. Both shatt and dalaran r NEUTRAL cities, used by both alliance and horde...the only way to put a AH is to actually put 2 AH in each one since alliance AH is separate from horde AH. That imo will require a large patch and it will only add to the existing lag in dalaran since all the alliance AH and the horde AH r linked. My 2 cents

That's about right... it's the same reason that there are no class trainers in Outland or Northrend, just to make sure that people go back once in a while to the Old World.
Yes it's a little arbitrary, but I quite like it anyway.

So Orgrimmar and Stormwind arent deserted. It was the same with Shattrath.
Could you imagine the lag in Dalaran if both Horde and Alliance used AH's there aswell?
And that :)

There is a mage trainer in Dalaran, for obvious reasons.

Shattrath and Dalaran are both Neutral Cities, and Blizz has decided that Neutral cities don't get Class Trainers or Auction Houses, I think for the reason of lag and just because they don't want it to be
that
easy.
Make use of the Portals in your Faction's section, guys. They are there for a reason.

There should be a goblin auction house in area 57 though, and also one in northrend. It was uncommon enough back in oldschool wow for players to use the goblin AH, and it became rarer still after outland hit. Now we're even farther away from the old world, so it would not surprise me if the green AH's popularity has taken yet another hit.
Now that I think of it, is there even a goblin city in northrend? I haven't seen one, and I've been in all zones except for storm peaks. This is certainly an overlooked aspect of the game...
Very south of Storm Peaks town called K3 i think

The only thing that's keeping Thunder Bluff alive is the drood trainer. TB is almost forgotten, with the zeps to Northrend in UC and ORG. Silvermoon at least has a port to UC. And if some of you are thinking there should be a universal AH, try to imagine the price inflation on vendor trash just to bankrupt the oppisite faction. That and the thousands of people at just one AH!
Thunder Bluff and Exodar, mate. They are long-forgotten :P

IMO, there should be a neutral auction house, maybe in the Dalaran sewers. Keep the things from being totally empty.
