Pardon me. The value of 1, are we suppose to set it as hexadecimal or just decimal value?
No offense, but this is why people shouldn't be messing with it. You don't understand what your doing yet your in there any who changing stuff. Your ignoring ALL the warnings in an attempt to "get a better connection" but when %^&* hits the fan you won't understand what went wrong, how to fix it, etc.

Jeez man, calm down. You have no idea how a computer works. The Registry is just telling the computer where to go and what to do with data, doing the above I've mentioned, which I've done to as close to a T as possible, and if you screw up, run Windows in safe mode and use a System restore, What I've stated above has little chance of crashing an OS, just make a system restore point before attempting this if your so worried.
System Restore, for those of you who don't know, reverts the registry back to the point it was saved, and often will revert your hard drive back as well in the case of installations/uninstallations. It also reverts your drivers back to that point too.
The worst you can do with adding the keys I've mentioned above, is make your internet go wacko, just system restore and its back to what it was, no problem. Now if you DELETE things, THIS is what can screw up your OS, so be wary of that.
As for all the values, yes they are all Hexadecimal, you ever rarely use Decimal for values, thats more for Quantum equations, but can be used for drivers or voltage, usually your computer runs Hexadecimal though, so yes, use Hexadecimal. (Also my favorite character on reboot. :) )

jinqs has a very good point, Tech problems are so easy to fix that people don't realize it. If people got a little more tech savvy, doubt you'd be in the job mate, And I dunno what the big fascination about people having degrees are, I remember the good old days where you worked for your spot, going up the corporate ladder, not buy it.
qillerdaemon, glad to see someone who uses Unix, I had to move to windows sadly for my work, but I've fixed lots of security and processing faults with it I believe. And that is true, you can't omit keys, only delete them. Thats a terrible flaw with Windows which is why its so vulnerable to viruses, but I suppose it can't be helped.
Like I said before, follow my directions to a T, and create a restore point before you start to work on this, and you'll be fine. If things mess up, you can just push F8 when the BIOS is done but before the OS boots up and put it into Safe Mode, then use system restore and your fixed.
As for putting the wrong key in the wrong spot, it usually wont do anything but give you a warning message that there is an empty key or it doesn't work, usually it wont do anything too bad, and if you have one of those registry cleaner programs, they'll fix it up.

Eh, I'm just quoting what I got on Elitest jerks, so pick a fight with them. :P, I'm just passing on the info I learned and it helped, just can't stand people who say "Opening up the regedit program will make your computer blow up."

The Atom bomb would never have been created had it not been for individuals that were willing to take a chance and delve into the unknown. The Wright Brothers would have never invented a controlable airplane without guts and intiative despite everyone telling them it was useless. Bill Gates might have never become the world's richest man when he dropped out of college had it not been for courage and vision.
The more you tinker, the more you learn. I say press on fellas, but just have the ability to take the wrath when it all goes wrong.
