regarding malediction, i'd heard tell that malediction actually increases the coefficient of all aff spells by 3% rather than boosting the player's bonus spellpower by 3% directly. this is easy enough to test i suppose but i've never got round to it. have you ever checked this blightman or should i sneak onto the PTR before it closes and take a look?

I have not fully investigated malediction. If you have the time I would like to know:
Does it affect all spells? Immolate for example
Does it boost spell damage or spell power coefficient?

I am being told I should be doing in or around 1500dps in Heroics with this spec but I cant get anywhere close I am finding doing 1150 to 1350 my max and thats on a boss not on trash.
Ok my cast is COE - SB "Use macro below for trinket use" Corrup - Immolate then SB again and the timer mod I use is Quartz but have used DT before.
#showtooltip Shadow Bolt
/use 13
/use 14
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/cast Shadow Bolt
I used the above details on a site called maxdps/loc and it gave me the figure of 1333dps which is about what I am doing ish but I am not happy I think I should be a lot higher.
With all the info above can you tell me what I am doing wrong.
First: change your spec:
Your
current spec
is designed for tBC not Wotlk. Basically all the cookie cutter specs will boost your DPS. If you like destro then try SnF/MD (very similar to what you have). Affliction can now outperform Destro but it will require more skill. If the rotation gets borked the DPS is not so good.
Second:
If you get that deep into destro you should switch to FIRE based spells. Immo/Incinerate > iBS spam. DS is out use your imp for damage.
Third:
maxdps.com has not updated destor for wotlk, use with caution
Lastly:
If you have a DK or Boomkin you don't have to use CoE you can use CoA.

Does it boost spell damage or spell power coefficient?
finally got round to looking at this on the ptr.
malediction is very simple. it literally increases your damage by 3%
a corruption that ticks for 100 will tick for 103. this also effects immolate so it's not confined to affliction spells. also it's not an addition to the coefficient or i would've seen a greater than 3% increase on corruption but that wasn't the case.
it's a post calculation modifier.
just shows that you shouldn't listen to hearsay but go out and test thing yourself i guess. (or
i
shouldn't listen and
i
should
test ^^).

I've noticed that no one has yet mentioned the Erad/SnF 31/0/40 spec which is currently my favorite WotLK build.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IcxrMzrGoVoZZEbuqr0zhMA
]
Glyphs
: Corruption, Shadowbolt & Shadowburn
Spell rotation
: Corruption, (Siphon Life on bosses), Shadowbolt, CoE (cast while initial SB is en route; Amplify Curse prevents any downtime between 1st & 2nd SBs), Shadowbolt spam (renew Corruption when necessary) & finish with Shadowburn.
This build is more gear dependent than others and is highly reliant on SB spam, but offers great single target DPS just like the old pre-WotLK DS/SnF 0/21/40 build; which of course was the highest DPS build a warlock could use at the time. However, Erad/SnF is in many ways an improvement on the old DS/SnF build. Demonic Sacrifice is no longer used to gain a +15% spellpower buff (nerfed to 10% anyways), but is still obtained thru Shadow Mastery. This means that not only do you not lose any spellpower, but get to keep your pet up for some extra DPS & their buff. Corruption also adds a good bit of extra damage & with Nightfall & Glyph of Corruption in place, insta-Shadowbolts add even more (I've been able to deal over 40,000 damage in less than 2 seconds from this--keep that Soul Shatter button close!). Also, when Eradication procs it can turn you into a SB machine gun.
Well if you like it fine. The problem is that once you get as deep into Destro as you are Immo/Incen performs better than SB. Using a slightly modified variant of your spec:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IcxrMzrGoVoZZEcMVr0zVMA
The major damage difference is coming from:
SB: 1.15 from shadow mastery * 1.1 from iSB and will boost CoA and Corr by 2% via 2/5 SE
vs
Immo: 1.15 from emberstorm * 1.1 from MC
Incen: 1.15 from ember * 1.1 from MC and cast time reduced 11% which is a big DPS increase
I don't know what sort of numbers that spec would generate. I doubt it will be higher then Snf/MD or Fg/Ember or Haunt/Ruin.
Corruption also adds a good bit of extra damage & with Nightfall & Glyph of Corruption in place, insta-Shadowbolts add even more (I've been able to deal over 40,000 damage in less than 2 seconds from this--keep that Soul Shatter button close!).
Ok, I would like to see a WWS of your 20k dps. That sounds like hyperbole or a very special case such as criting the curator during an evocation phase where he is taking 200%

i have some troubles finding fit spec for me.
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Terenas&n=Fitzosu
can u help pls , i need a good spec accordingly to my gear and some advices regarding my gear and stats, also if u find me good spec pls advice me ab glyphs and spell rotation ..
thx in advance :)
Fit for what, raiding? I would suggest readin the section of this post on specs. It has several options. The FG/Ember of FG/Deva build would be very similar to what you ar using now. The rotations and glyphs are included in that section

Sorry, but I don't know what a WWS is or how to show you one :P
I can, however, explain how this is possible as I just did it for the 3rd time last night in Vault.
With the spec that I previously linked and in full raid buffs my SBs crit for just over 10k (w/ Imp SB up). Shadowtrance is capable of procing back to back b/c Nightfall & Glyph of Corruption do not share the same internal cooldown. While getting hit with the spikes, Backlash also procced. So, There was the initial shadowbolt, two insta-Shadowbolts from Shadowtrance & one insta-Shadowbolt from Backlash--each one hitting for just over 10k. The global cooldown between SB #1-2 was consumed during the cast time of the 1st SB (i.e., 1 & 2 we're both cast almost simultaneously). After taking spell haste into consideration the global cooldown between SBs 2-3 and 3-4 was somewhere around 1.2 seconds, meaning that 4 SBs were all cast in roughly 2.4 seconds (sorry, should have said slightly over 2 seconds, not under--didn't really put that much thought into it at the time lol). I hope that explanation makes sense. As you can imagine this isn't a common occurrence (I've done it 3 times), but hitting for 20-30k in just a second or 2 does happen fairly often.
You are right it doesn't happen. What you just described was doing 40k in ~6.6s, the clock starts at when you start casting the 1st SB. So regular SB(2.4s)+instSB1(1.4s)+inst 4 SB2(1.4s)+instSB3(1.4s) all crtiing for 10k each lead to 40k/6.6= 6k DPS. A spike of 6k DPS is believable.
As you say, the occurrence of that is very rare, and not directly related to evaluating a raid spec.
