I'll put it simply -
every
kind of person plays World of Warcraft.
GayGamer.net has a
World of Warcraft forum
where you can often find a GLBT guild, if that's your style. Also they have pretty damn good video game-related news articles.

I find it silly that we have to divide up into groups while in the World of Warcraft. There is already too much of that going on in the world, which causes so much hate and discontent. Now we're doing the same thing in WoW?
Is it not enough that we all enjoy the same game? We're all MMO gamers (even with the success of WoW, we're still a fairly niche group), so why divide up even further into GLBT gamers, black gamers, Christian gamers.. etc.
It's human nature I suppose.
There's nothing wrong with a group, especially groups that are subject to harassment from the "majority", but even groups that aren't, finding solidarity in the company of people who are like themselves. I can tell you if I had to go through life as an out gay guy, yeah, I might want to log on and bitch about people harassing me with people who have gone through the same thing and are willing to listen and give me support while we kill things. And these aren't exclusive groups, they don't ask you how many same sex encounters you've had on the way in. It's only a problem when that group tries to make others uncomfortable, like if the gay group was like "You know, lets harass the straight players, make them leave this server" or whatever. And I'm not on that server so I can't say for sure but I'd lay money that they're not doing that.

The thing I'd note is that when people argue that "we should never find out if you're gay or not because your sex life doesn't belong in chat or vent" that they're being unfair. It's certainly true that you generally shouldn't be going on about your sex life around others in-game, but you don't have to describe a sex act to indicate information about your *sexual orientation*.
If everyone knows you're a guy and you mention having a girlfriend or wife in some context, arguably that indicates that you are either heterosexual or bisexual. And I think we can all agree that casually mentioning something like that (the "sweet, my bf just brought me a beer!" example from before is great) isn't too unusual or inappropriate.
So if someone reveals they're homosexual or bisexual through some innocuous method like this, it doesn't necessarily mean they were being overbearing or exhibitionist.
Fortunately there are plenty of guilds out there that are friendly to the GLBT community (some less apparent than others; some guilds may not be particularly oriented towards the GLBT community but still have a policy of not making any group feel maligned or excluded). The trick is finding a nice guild and braving the general community, where sensitivity to the feelings of others is considered a weakness and an insult.

She took the words right out of my mouth. Now, to add to what she said, I don't think it should matter who you are, because it's a game, and they're created for people of all walks of life to have fun, and enjoy the experience. If you can't understand that, then you don't deserve to play any video game.

Miyari's common sense crits again...
I was honestly expecting someone to turn around and be like, "Oh yeah, what about the AMISH?"

Former guild mate of mine described himself once or twice as "Epic Fruit."
He did turn out to be kindof a major tool, but the point was, yes, gay in wow exists.
I've got people on my blacklist for their repeated usage of "the other f word" or saying something is so gay.
I think I also once got someone to quit my entire guild when I suggested he may want to rethink his phrasing. >.> How sad.
