Easy Pre-Naxx/Heroic Healing Gear List v1.5 [1/9/09]

This list here consists purely of quest and rep rewards, world/zone drops or BoE craftables, that's what makes it
easy
gear to collect. If you leveled to 80 as restoration, chances are you've already attained quite a number of these rewards (or better) so you should know what's coming at you.
This is by no means an "ultimate" healing gear list for druids, it's just a little something for you to have as a guideline to follow on your way to 80, and after that you can start farming instances for better gear. The good thing about it is that you can start collecting the set while leveling, so you'll have some of your gear ready when you reach 80, and you get XP while doing it!
I've compiled an example set of this list, picking most of the best equipment to a simple compare page
here
. With this set according to
www.warcrafter.net
a character should have around 1500 effective spellpower with around 220 mp5 while casting, when enchanted and gemmed properly.
Change log:
Narrowed down some parts of the list, added some items I've noticed recently.
Removed 2h weapons since there simply are no good ones at the moment.

Gems:
There are three kinds of sockets: Red, Yellow and Blue. You can put gems of any color into your items, but socketed items give bonuses if the socketed gems match the colors of the sockets.
Red
sockets accept
Purple
,
Orange
and
Red
gems.
Yellow
sockets accept
Green
,
Orange
and
Yellow
gems.
Blue
sockets accept
Green
,
Purple
and
Blue
gems.
Prismatic gems
are gems that fit
every
socket and yield a bonus. Jewelcrafters should craft the following prismatic gems:
Runed Dragon's Eye
Sparkling Dragon's Eye
Remember you can have a maximum of three Dragon's Eyes socketed in your equipment at any time, so make good use of it!
That being said, let's move onto the sockets:
Red
socket:
Red gem:
Runed Bloodstone
Rare:
Runed Scarlet Ruby
Orange gem:
Luminous Huge Citrine
Rare:
Luminous Monarch Topaz
Purple gem:
Purified Shadow Crystal
Rare:
Purified Twilight Opal
Yellow
socket:
Yellow gem:
Brilliant Sun Crystal
Rare:
Brilliant Autumn's Glow
Orange gem:
Luminous Huge Citrine
Rare:
Luminous Monarch Topaz
Green gem:
Seer's Dark Jade
Rare:
Seer's Forest Emerald
Blue
socket:
Blue gem:
Sparkling Chalcedony
Rare:
Sparkling Sky Sapphire
Purple gem:
Purified Shadow Crystal
Rare:
Purified Twilight Opal
Green gem:
Seer's Dark Jade
Rare:
Seer's Forest Emerald
On every color I have listed a suggested gem of every color. The upper one is the cheaper, Uncommon gem while the lower one is a Rare gem, which is generally recommended for any and all raiding gear you're not likely to replace in two days. Let's not talk about epic gems here, since they're largely beyond this guide's scale. :)

Glyphs:
At level 80 we get access to a grand total of six glyphs: three major and three minor glyphs. I've written a small breakdown on every druid glyph that could even remotely be useful for a resto druid.
Major:
Glyph of Lifebloom
Increases the duration of Lifebloom by 1 sec. Now this single glyph lengthens your untalented Lifebloom spell by 14% and oddly enough it really does give you the edge when spamming Lifebloom all around your raid, you suddenly seem to have way more time to recast Lifebloom on your MT than before. Definitely keep this in mind.
Glyph of Rebirth
Don't be mislead by this one. Your Rebirth spell resurrects a dead target and gives them 6400 health and 4700 mana without the glyph. This glyph increases the amount of health the target is resurrected with by 100%, which does not mean it will resurrect them at 100% of their health, it's 12,800 hp. It doesn't affect the mana they'll be resurrected with, either. So many good major glyphs out there I'd just leave it be.
Glyph of Regrowth
This here is a nice little glyph. If your Regrowth buff is still on your target when you recast Regrowth, you'll end up healing for 20% more. Add the 50% increased crit chance from talents and let 'er rip!
Glyph of Rejuvenation
Another glyph with a misleading tooltip. Not ALL of your heals gain that 50% bonus, it's just your Rejuvenation healing 50% more. This could be an interesting glyph, but since it only affects Rejuvenation and you don't want to have your targets go below 50% anyway, it's not much use. Consider it though and see if it fits your playing style (ie. if you use Rejuvenation more than most).
Glyph of Swiftmend
This is a definite must to any resto druids. Swiftmend is instant, doesn't take up a GCD AND it doesn't consume a HoT you'd have to recast, and is usable every 15 seconds? This is something I'm definitely going to carry around with me.
Glyph of Healing Touch
Don't touch it. No. Just no. If you happen to choose your talent build so that your Healing Touch takes 2.5 sec to cast, with this glyph you'll end up casting a 1 sec Healing Touch (the GCD isn't even up yet!) that heals for 50% less than usual while only taking 25% less mana? What you'd also lose is your only big heal (Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch). Stay away from it.
Glyph of Innervate
This should be interesting. Cast Innervate on a fellow raid member and make them happy with their huge mana regen and enjoy having all your mana regen pop up while you cast OR instead cast it on yourself and get a 480% manaregen instead of just 400%! Just imagine the fun you could have with two druid healers casting glyphed Innervate on each other! Keep this in mind too, it could be a tough choice between this and Glyph of Lifebloom.
Minor:
Glyph of the Wild
It's a small bonus, but the minor glyphs for druids are so weird I'd just pick this one up. Just how often do you cast GotW in combat anyway?
Glyph of Unburdened Rebirth
Also just a small bonus but hey, you can clown around with the minor glyphs as there really is not much to give you a great benefit. Hey, at least you save an inventory slot or two!
Glyph of Thorns
Definitely not worth anything to the constant raider, but it could be worthwhile when soloing!
Glyph of Aquatic Form
Now seriously. You can get away faster from bosses and encounters that are in water. That's not something you see every day anyway huh? I guess it must be really cool for gathering Stranglekelp or something.
Well, this is it! I hope my little guide helped some of you raiders-to-be a bit. Now go melt faces!

Thanks for the feedback faia, I corrected the error with the chestpiece and added the mace, thanks for them. :)
Will not add the trinket because the list does not include BoP instance drops, but it's a nice trinket so anyone who takes a look at this list will find it there, it indeed is a nice trinket!

Thanks for the contribution 2bitmarksman, they're indeed a nice addition to a set. :)
TokyoJapan: If nothing else, you'll be healing at least the easy heroics without a notable problem and will be able to start farming for better stuff!

faia, that's a very nice list right there. It might be a good follow-up for my guide here, since it lists a lot of BoP instance drops and Emblem rewards.
It's a nice guide to follow after collecting some (or more) of my list, since I haven't listed any Emblem rewards and my list is pretty much assuming you live a pre-heroic and pre-raid era.
