yes but without the skinner skinning it... or miner mining it... you cant STILL get something from it and vendor it...
i can vendor that gear :) but you with NO effort can break it for me (out of decency maybe?).
disenchanting skill takes no effort to lvl... you get it FREE While you lvl enchanting :)
skinning and mining and herb take effort to lvl...
since we are talking about the gathering proffs
waaah skinners should let me roll on their skin... waaah miners... get over it... we worked SPECIFICALLY to be able to get that loot.... you got your skill free while lvling your crafting profession.
the only person in a run with a right to the skin/ore IMO is another skinner/miner... so turns are taken getting said items

So Ignis86....
From what you just said...I can conclude then that whenever there is a rogue (or engineer or whoever else can open locked chests) in the group and he/she opens a chest for the group...then that person should be entitled to all loot inside, even if it happens to be a BoE blue.
so you cant blow the lock open or use a key? wow i didnt know that... :p

Honestly it doesnt make sense. Enchanting is waaay harder to level than any gathering proffesion.
well we are talking about enchanting and leatherworking and skinning right?
then you have to compare DISENCHANTING to Skinning as its the gathering part for enchanting... and skinning is way harded to lvl since you get "disenchant skill" free. and leatherworking is harder to lvl than chanting.
not everyone needs skin or ore.... EVERYONE needs chanting mats

The trick with being an enchanter is that you tell the group to roll on shards
at the end of the run
and then just don't remind them, you are pretty much guaranteed that some or all of the group will hearth before they remember and you get free shards or less competition at /roll time :)
Dishonest? Yeah but it sure beats forking out your own money to lvl enchanting and lets be fair once you have most of the common armor enchants for your own class what benefit do you get from lvling enchanting? It's a pain and it's expensive.

So let me get this straight guys... (and just to clarify, I have no enchanter among my group of characters):
If you go into a raid/instance/whatnot, and there's a BOP drop, and there's no enchanter in the group, you basically just vendor the blue and get your stack'o'money.
But if there actually IS an enchanter, and HE wins the greed roll, you expect him to DE it and share the shards? what kind of filthy greed is that?
When a BOP drops, everyone should have a chance at vendoring it if no one needs it. So everyone greeds. If an enchanter gets it and decides he'll DE it, its his choice, and his benefit for being an enchanter.
Enchanting is hard enough without all the greed-sick ppl around. Give them a break will ya...

If you're an enchanter and you won the blue off a greed roll, keep it.
If you won it off a need roll, everyone rolls.
Simple as that.

If we all worked as a group to down a boss/mob and we need to share the loot fairly, including having enchanters DE a BOP and share the shards, we need to have miners, herbalists, skinners and Jewelcrafters (prospecting) AND inscribers (that new thing i forgot the name of) - all have everyone roll for anything you stumble upon in groups.
No one can reach the depths of instances solo to mine, herb, loot, skin, what ever u want. You always need the help of team mates, and for that help they should be paid.
Sounds like a scrap of $%^& eh? Well it is.
And that's why everyone has to make do with their professions. If you want a chance to get shards, be an enchanter. No one's preventing you from being one. Why don't you then? Because you prefer something else. Well tough luck, if you picked something different, you'll have to BUY your shards.
Think of it this way:
Why should you, a non-enchanter, benfit from an enchanter-only skill, while the enchanter doesnt gain from your miner only, herb only, skinning only and all the rest, skills?
I mean hey, a jewelcrafter can prospect ores. Well why shouldn't we all benefit from ores then! prospecting is a free skill, doesnt need to lvl it up, and it can be done on all ores. Why should the miner be the only one to benefit from ores? have him mine them, have the JC prospect them, and roll on the gems! After all, we all worked our way inside to reach those mines. We all cleared the areas just so that the miner can go skippingly happy and mine away, we want a share...
Face it people, its not the enchanter who's greedy, its you. If he won the greed roll its his right to do whatever he wants with the item. Deal with it.
Oh by the way,
Not to mention the fact that enchanting is possibly the hardest skill to make money on, considering people usually dont want to pay for the enchant itself if they provide materials. Enchanters need to keep the money flowing SOMEHOW...

OK here's the thing I keep seeing "waaaah I leveled enchanting not you, I deserve to get shards." ^_- If you win a greed roll, it's all yours. If you need the blue just to disenchant it and then don't allow the rest of the grp to roll on the shard, you are a ninja in my book and you will not be running with me again.
Common courtesy:
I won the greed roll, its mine to disenchant for my own
I needed it to shard it, and now we all roll for the shard or for the enchanter to pay for the price the item would have vendored for.
Selfishness:
I need to level enchanting, and I'm needing the blues no one needs. I'm not passing out shards, your rolls mean nothing, and I'm not offering any compensation for the value of the blue I just essentially ninjaed.
If you want all the blues, do a guild run or farm the mats to make your own damn blues and greens... Quit acting like you NEED instances to completely level enchanting, its just not so. Convenience is your only excuse.
If you don't want to DE blues and epics no one wants so everyone can roll on them, just freakin don't offer to. greed it all and go on your merry way.
