the only part of the game i miss by using quest helper... is the tearing my hair out trying to find the mobs that were vaguely mentioned in the quest...
i experience the SAME game as everyone without a quest helper... i just experience it with less hassle...
and getting through quests faster lets me level faster than the avg person without assistance so i don't get caught in the mob of people after the same npc/drop/etc... so i'm helping them out too :p
how am i "worse" than someone using an online database ie thottbot or wowhead even to find the same information?
(not a dis to wowhead i love wowhead and use it ALL THE TIME)

I'll say it again, if your goal is to zoom through content then none of the questing mods available compare to the guides created by james at wow-pro.com.
I know this because starting at lvl1 to lvl70 i reached 70 before my friend who was using questhelper.
Then there is that amusing situation where questhelper insisted that the quest you do in BRD to smash the brewery kegs was below the main winterspring town.
I kept lol'ing at him to get rid of quest helper.

@Seneca
You were the one that started the stupid comments and are going on the defensive about people bashing at you?
You guys
are the cancer killing the World of Warcraft player base.
Let's keep this thread on topic about your opinions on which add-on is better.
Btw, my preference is QH as I feel it's new author is keeping the add-on with new update daily and it just fills my need of finding quest objectives easier instead of asking people on the general chat ;) Never tried Carbonite, but heard good things about it.

There really is NO excuse for such utter laziness. I hope the collective userbase of all "play the game for me plz" addons dies in a fire.

Just because you use an add-on such as Quest Helper does not automatically mean you ignore the quest text and spam enter. You read the same thing as everybody else, the only difference is that you know where to go and where the next closest objective is. While the majority of the WotLK quest descriptions in the log do provide (mostly) accurate information as to what you should do, prior ones weren't so exact.
(Exaggeration incoming)
NPC> Greetings to you, <race>! As you may know, my people are under attack from the vicious <boss name here> . In order to help you in your quest to slay the dread monster, we will inform you that he lives somewhere on the continent of Kalimdor. Because time is of the essence, you have 30 minutes to slay him and return. Good luck!

Again if your point is to zoom through to get your alt into raiding, then nothing is better than using a simple waypoint mod like tomtom combined with the
guides james makes
.
Even when you do hit 70 in Nagrand like i did on my paladin, after only having touched three areas. the rest of outlands is a money bucket waiting to be harvested...the guides james makes will speed up this cashflow for you.

That's right, 620000 XP / hour. That means you can theoritically get one level every 2 hours and half if you follow my guide properly.
...
Why do I post this? Well to prove that my guides are better than any other addon like Questhelper.
It's quite simple really.
Questhelper is a nice addon, but it can't optimize your quest circuits nearly as much as what I've achieved through hard work.
It can't think 3, 4, 5 or sometimes 10 steps ahead.
It can't think of quests coming from remote quest hubs which have synergies with other quests you already have.
And more importantly it doesn't tell you tricks that make certain quests much easier.
But if your point is to casually quest through the content in a manner that requires no fore-thought, no requirement to remember things from the previous session and your machine is unable to run programs other than wow at the same time....then maybe questhelper is for you, if you don't mind it being incorrect, crashing & generally causing a slowdown on your machine.
this comic touches on that topic :
http://www.darklegacycomics.com/164.html
I will say that there is two useful features of questhelper.
providing someone else has the mod, i don't have to keep asking them what 'quest do you have next', 'how many X are left'
it can be used to create your own waypoint mappings and farming routes.
Looking for
Booty Bay Bruiser
/qh find Bruiser
Will firstly provide a list of possible matches, selecting stranglethron will open the map and paint highlighted splotches.
But if i were only using questhelper for the second point, then wowhead is here, and I find that mob-map does a better job for in-game methods of finding mobs.

Carbonite FTW
It has been updated and besides a few quest locations being slightly off i have not had a single problem with it thus far in Northrend and have not heard that any of my level 80 friends had any issues with it in the later zones either.

QuestingAddons (And AddOns generally) won't always make game EASIER, but maybe FASTER.
I can tell you didn't read what i posted nor read the link i posted.

I've used both. Currently, I have QH but its not perfect. I had switched to Carbonite awhile back when QH broke and while I liked it well enough I went back to what I was used to when I found out QH was workin again. I liked Carb's maps better but QH's routing more. You still need to read the questlogs as neither is perfect and they both have missing information, especially out in Northrend. One of the bugs I keep finding is kill mob "x" for # of "y" item drops and return to questgiver. Neither points you in the direction of the mobs to kill for the items you need, but points you to the quest turn in. I'd say try them both and decide for yourself.

Kkthxbye?
The thing about James' guides is that unless you are starting from scratch, you must follow the guide strictly. Which can be a pain in the ass if you are in the middle of a quest line,
or if you want to do a quest which isn't in the guide
.
Carbonite works for all quests. Without a hitch.
Download it. Use it. Be good.
No sir you are wrong. I picked it up on several of my alts when i hit the various double o levels.
Your just lazy.
carbonite requires :
payment,
it misses out on quests started from drops
doesnt line up quests you don't have yet
or if you want to do a quest which isn't in the guide
.
james doesnt miss out quests sorry. further proof you have no idea what your talking about.

90% of cases the quest description allows you to go straight to the right location. For the 10% where it's difficult, i run around the general area 2-3 minutes and then alt-tab to wowhead.
The point of that is that by not going straight to the the quest point you see more of the world, amusing things and whatnot. And when doing them on an alt, if you have a normal memory, you should be able to go straight to them without bothering.
