Maybe everyone would be happier to play a game full of problems, atleast it would give people something new to moan about.
Maybe we do play in a game full of problems, and their solution is to not let us play at all?

Answer this, if you went to McDonalds during a shift change would you wait more than 20 minutes for your meal?
Apples and Oranges there
And ince when does McDs shut down for 20mins for shift changes?
Maybe you shouldn't eat there anymore
Yeah just remember you gained 3 days for the maintenance they did this month so it's not an entire loss

The downtime has made it a pain for everyone. Myself I play mostly in the mornings when I get home from work...Tuesdays are my "no WOW" days and living on the east coast, makes it a little harder. But I dont mine the downtime just as long as Blizz get the game working properly for everyone: especially with the expansion out tomorrow. But witht the problems progressing every week, maybe they should have released patch 3.02 2 months earlier, instead of 1 month before the expansion.

I realize things can go wrong and require more time to fix, but I just really wish they'd allot more time for patches/maintenance to begin with. So instead of saying servers will be up by 11am and then taking another 10 hours or whatever, why not give yourselves more time to begin with so you don't rush and screw up anything? Say they'll be up by 2pm for instance.
I think people would complain less if they were given true ETAs. I would rather do other things for a few extra hours and then be able to log in when blizzard tells me I can, instead of trying to log in just to find out they need more time.

The thing is everyone is just speculating that Blizz isn't working, and until you've put together software you don't know how difficult it is to maintain something like this. Think of Microsoft and Windows, you ever get errors with Windows? They are a multi-billion dollar company, you'd think they'd be able to come out with a Perfect Version of Windows? I'm sure people have seen the PC vs Mac commercials.
I know how people must feel, I had a holiday yesterday and I do again today. No WoW all day yesterday I just gave up waiting and went to bed last night hoping I'd get to play when I woke up.. So yeah I'm as $%^&ed as you are but #$!@$ing isn't going to fix the servers.

Blizzard does the best they can, gotta atleast give them a break because this is the most popular MMO there is with 11 million subscriptions.
Do you think we don't know how many subscribers there are? More importantly, do you think
Blizzard
doesn't know? Even if this happens in every other MMO, doesn't make it okay. This really is bad customer service and I have no confidence in Blizzard's ability to have the servers ready for tomorrow considering yesterday and today's maintenance issues.

So if they gave people an ETA of 6hrs and the server comes up within 2hrs, people are going to complain because they came back 6hrs later and didn't bother to check
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/realmstatus/
every 5mins. Meaning they lost 4hrs of game time.
This is the reason they give 2hr ETAs and then add more if things go wrong.
So people don't miss out too much
