Just a quick question, How many paladins here actually use this seal?
In my opinion this seal is worthless i dont see any benefits from it.
please prove me wrong, tell me why this seal exists.
regards tharkas
You are certainly not a ret pally are ya ;D
SoB is the most powerful seal a paladin has. Because of its hp loss to the paladin themselves, it only finds a practical use in PvE/raid DPS situations where you have a healer keeping you up. Because of its high dps, I know some ret paladins who even use it in PvP, though 'very' good health management is required in this case.

Ok, Everyone needs to read this post carefully.
You wont see the full benefit of SoB by just going up to a @#$%in dummy and auto attacking. This is because none of you have taken AoE into affect. Since patch 3, our divine storm has given us the ability to get 4 (max) more hits every 10 seconds. This essentially doubles the amount of hits we do in a fight. Assuming your weap has a 3.3 spd. You will get ~3 hits every 10seconds from it, where you will get another 4 (max) from DS. This is important because of how SoB and SoC work.
As far as I know, SoC has an internal cooldown that makes it impossible for it to hit more than once each second. What this means in AoE situations is that SoC will only proc once on the maximum of 4 hit DS gives you. SoB does not share this limitation. SoB will proc on each and every DS hit. This has huge implications for DPS in AoE environments. So, SoB might be equal (or a little more powerful) to SoC one vs. one situations, SoB absolutely kills SoC when facing two or more opponents. This is why any sensible raider uses it.
I really hope I never have to explain this again.

As a healer, especially in 5 mans, I hate it. I want to just focus on the tank and not have to worry about topping off some dinky DPS' health when they aren't even getting hit by the npcs. Raid situations there's a lot more bleed/raid healing going on though so I don't mind.
I often find myself avoiding healing those using SoM on purpose, unless they actually pull aggro.
Yes, you wanna sit there and show of your nice huge DPS numbers, but think of the healer and also think, "Do I really need that extra few DPS to finish this instance?"

The problem with JoL is that its inefficient to use on trash that's going to die in 5 secs, and you can't use it on all the trash in a 5 man because of the cooldown. By the time I get a second cast, we're halfway into the second mob. When we get to a boss I have no problems cause light is on there and the Retadin is getting healed about as much as they are being dealt.
However, Retadins say they use this as a mana recovery tool as well. JoL does not proc spiritual attunement that I have noticed.
Also, won't Replenishment come about from using SoC?

So given all that info, I am guessing SoB wouldn't be useful for questing. SoC for questing. Levelling my Pally I can't see any use for it during regular questing in the Outlands.
And also having a 70 holy priest as a main, I can't say I have noticed having to heal a Pally using SoB - no more than usual anyway. And I agree with jhuseman - those locks are annoying! 2 of our main locks do it and they normally die during the next pull because I refuse to heal them.
