Well at 80 you can spec into both. At least from what my spec is, though I like doing things differently usualy. Right now I'm spec'd into IW because 20% reduced attack speed reduces damage I take significantly and I never have problems holding aggro anyway. The snare is a bonus.

yes, at 80, not really needed at 70.
I beg to differ. You can easily pick it and other tanking necessities up at 70 in a good tanking spec. Your points in the resto tree might suffer, but IF is a must-have for all tanking build for any druid high enough to get them.

This talent - like many other druid talents - has two parts; one part with a pve focus and one for pvp.
The snare component is for feral pvp, no question about it.
But Infected Wounds also sticks on bosses, and while it doesn't slow their movement, it does slow their attack speed by 20%, and that is enormous from a mitigation standpoint.
Edit: Go Parrazell, beat me by 12 seconds :D

For raid scenarios, maybe the question to ask is:
1. Will there be feral cats in the raid with this talent?
2. Will it's Attack Speed reduction stack with similar class skills, such as Thunder Clap
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=47502
,
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=12666?
3. Will there be enchants that you can put on a weapon to do the same thing, such as Death Frost
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=46578
For purely looking at it from a pve perspective, I'm not yet convinced that it will be *critical*. I think once we get people to do more testing, we'll find out more. Especially with all of the raid-wide overwriting that is going on. No sense in wasting talent points that would be overwritten in a 25 man raid, if that's the focus of the build and people are carrying talents and/or enchants that do the same thing as good or better.
