Trouble with that logic is 100% of the people I've heard mispronounce it were American.

About the reagent, I know people who say regent...It bothers me so much...

A reagent is a substance that is consumed during a reaction; in real-life terms, it's some sort of chemical that is used as a fuel or component of a chemical reaction, while in WoW it's used as a catalyst for a spell.
A regent (ree-jent) is someone who is selected to act as the head of governing body; for example, Bolvar Fordragon was (I think) the regent of Stormwind since Anduin Wrynn was too young to assume the full duties of the monarchy.
So unless you're visiting a vendor to buy Bolvar Fordragon for use in your spells (Kinky! ;) you're using a ree-ay-jent, not a ree-jent.

how about Paladin...
pal-uh-din (pāl'ə-dĭn)
I used to take so much flak on vent cause people kept telling me it was pal-ah-din
As well, Shaman... shah-muhn, shey-muhn
apparently, both are correct

Don't make fun. I've been pronouncing it like h-earth for over a year. Truth is I'd never heard the word til I played World of Warcraft. >_>

English spelling (both British and American) are far from predictable primarily due to how many words have been imported from other languages.
In addition, genre things (science fiction movies, video games, graphic novels, etc.) tend to make more frequent use of uncommon words, uncommon usages, and uncommon spellings. There are words which I read for years in comics before ever hearing them in real life. For example, around 1980 I remember a comics character named Paladin illustrated by the great Howard Chaykin. I was a kid and pronounced it puh-LAD-in.
And there used to be a Star Trek fan publication called Starfleet Communique. I pronounced the word Communique to rhyme with unique, which is spelled similarly. But it's actually kom-you-nih-KAY.
For the combination of these two reasons, I find it hard to be too tough on people for mispronouncing words that occur in-game.
I thought reagent was pronounced REE-jent also, because I have never come across the word IRL. So laugh at me if it makes you feel superior. Or just laugh with me as we all puzzle it out.
