< fg speced 400res ~12500 hp
intercept huntard, curse of weaknes on pet, run near huntard > dot him up, fear > drain > shadowburn > dead huntard :D
just gear up a bit
My god, seriously. My near-300 resilience makes killing hunters easymode, even without being able to fear them for (30, 25?) seconds. Just draintank the hunter and distract the pet with deathcoil(which, if alot of you still don't know, is a seperate effect away from fear) and wait, though in higher tiers of arena you'll probably use or wait to use your DC for something better instead.

hmmm hunters. as sl/sl loc if the hunter is marksman u just gotta deathcoil before silence shot dot and drain = u win if he inetupts ur drain life... omg do again.
if he is a bm hunter then its a little harder but once again deathcoil first before he enrages then dot and drain..... u only have 2 last 18 seconds or win either way. + hope for nightfall its a killer

I was assuming a BM hunter: though in arenas, marksman and survival(for some, I suppose...) are definately going to be tougher and more encountered, which then changes the tactics entirely. Also, most spell knockback comes from the pet: I'd rather try to LOS the hunter to get fear off in arenas than waste DC on him at all.
Hell, in arenas, I'd probably be better off focusing the hunters healer(if in 2v2, considering the bitch they can be) or getting trained in 3v3 and 5v5. :p

If you can fear me before I can pop beastial wrath you've won. And the silence and stun are marksman only talents.

Beastial Wrath isn't an I WIN button, but its 18 seconds of massive damage which will probably take you down quite a bit. Also, (although this probably only applies to idiot locks) I don't know how many times i've seen a warlock attempt to fear with my pet pushing back the cast so that it takes him like 6 seconds to do it. by then he's basically dead.

Winning against a hunter is not difficult as long as you have more SKILL then the hunter and your gear is reasonable. A good spec also goes a long way. In PVP BG's if I see a hunter send his pet and he's too far out of my range I just back up until his pet disappears bc it is out of his range...he will have to recall his pet all over again. Thats what to do if he has popped BM. If he doesn't pop BM just fear the pet and go after the hunter, send your OWN demon after the hunter, especially felhunter/succi/imp (fire balls can hurt.lol) AND burn him down. The biggest problem people have with taking down a hunter is that they always go for the pet. Same problems with locks and mages. DON'T worry about the pet. If you take down the master, the pet is gone anyway.
