And in PvE. My overall DPS dropped very much. from 900-1000 to 700-750 DPS a fight. You're doing something wrong.

You're doing something wrong.
I don't think so...
I repeat I do not raid much. I do only Heroics and Karazhan. Trash drops in less than 10 seconds. The maximum I can do on a single mob in 10 seconds is 1 scorch and 3 fireball crits, wich result in 1600 + 3200 x3. In my previous build I could do 4 frostbolt crits, wich result in 4500 x4 and took less mana than my 3 fireballs. Minimal damage would be 1 scorch of 750 and 3 fireballs of 1800 against 4 frostbolts of 1700.
And I repeat again, I think being in a 25+ man raid situation would be different, with 5 scorches stacked every fight. 15% +dmg changes everything.
Plus, I dont wear huge +fire dmg gear like you guys. Many mages got spellfire set, flametongue offhand and such +fire gear wich help alot their spelldamage. I had 1000 +dmg in my previous build and now I'm down to 800.

Boss DPS counts, trash DPS does not.

Boss DPS counts, trash DPS does not.
Yeah, of course I do alot more DPS on bosses fight. But honestly having Arcane Power + Berseking, 2.20 second cast Frostbolts wich crits at 5000-5500 and having 1-3 "free" frostbolt cast with pom (depending on the lenght of the fight) was giving me higher DPS at the end of a boss fight.
Anyway, even with 5 scorches, I can score only around 4000 fireballs crit. I usually score 4500 frostbolt crits and around 5400 with Arcane Power on.... without having to stack stuff on the boss...
But it probably goes along with your game play type and your gear. I mean, I can understand many people have way more DPS with Deep fire than a frost build. It's just not my case, get over it. Deep Fire spec does not suit everyone, every gear and every playing type. I pwn more with frost, and it's a fact now that I've carefully tried both...

But, deep fire still does more DPS than arcane/frost in 90% of the cases.
I am still amazed that your DPS is actually better on bosses with arc/frost than with deep fire.

If you arent capped hit, you will see a lot of partial resists on Fireball and it will lower your DPS in ways that you are experiencing. The latest patch a while back introduced a bug with Elemental Precision providing 2% hit for Frost spells only (1% for Fire) so if you arent hit capped, this may have brought you closer while doing Frost damage and maybe why your DPS is higher.
YEs I'm not hit capped, so it might be the cause.
I'm pretty sure being hit capped + having a lil bit more fire oriented gear + longer fights would completly swap things around and would make me do better DPS with fire. I think deep fire is a very good spec, it's just not working for me :(
If someday im going to do 25+ raid, I'll have to change and re-think alot of things, cause my actualy gameplay only works with 10- raids. And I'm aware of it o(^_^)o

Your gear isnt good enough to be considered an raiding/PVE mage, yet you post your thoughts and experiences with the best spec and give it an overall thumbs down compared to a spec that works with your gear. You are going to cause a lot of confusion for those that come to these forums for advice and information.
My gear is not PVE oriented, of course im not "considered" as a raiding mage lol. And by the way, there's many "casual" players like me who don't do much raids and PvE stuff. And when they do so, they use their PvP gear. So maybe my thoughts and experiences will serve those people.. Don't go think
everyone
will be getting better dps with your favorite spec.
Im fairly sure when this bug with Elemental Precision is fixed, your damage is going to drop to below what you were seeing in Karazhan as fire. Goes to show how important hit is since a bug in the game is giving you 3% more than what you should be getting.
We'll see.. I'll keep you informed on that. I bet this bug will be removed on Icy Veins patch?
I would like to see WWS parses for your raid if possible.
What is WWS? I use SW stats as a damage meter to calcul dps, if that is what you seek.
Thanks.
