You earn (a lot of) gold for it.
Some people also like to read the quest lines. Many of them are really good.
Others just like to complete everything they can, to "complete" the game.

First time I hit 70 I went right into end game stuff. I did maybe two quests in Blade's Edge and not a single Shadowmoon quest aside from the Netherwing line.

Bad choice you made there.
Not really... I mean, it used to be, that the money you made from doing the quests at 70 was so good, people would hold off questing in like 3 places till then. But as soon as dailies got pumped up to 25/day, it's really not that much gold in comparison. Reputation is great, but if he doesn't need it, or prefers to run instances for it, it may just be better that way.
I for one, have only done a few quests in Blade's Edge, and done about half the quests in both Shadowmoon Valley and Netherstorm. There are definitely benefits to doing the quests, just they aren't that huge.
I'm saving the rest of the quests for when I'm 80, just so it's easier for me to do them all, and get the quest achievements in those areas.

Tbh i feel like im making lots of more gold questing then doing dailys, i always finish all qs on all characters, atleast in OL :)
You do and you don't... There are at least like 50+ quests per area, so if you do them all at 70, and on average they give 10 gold, you'll be getting 500 gold, multiply that by 2 or 3 areas, and that between 1k-1.5k gold.
This seems like a lot, but about a week of dailies, even less actually can get you this. Not counting anything you encounter that you can sell, and anything you gather with professions.

Yep, I was finally done with leveling, so I gave them all up and started gearing up with instances and doing dailies.

When I hit 70, dailies were 10...Plus I actually enjoyed doing the chains. Queue for some instance/BG, and go earn money.

Questing is also a very good way to gear yourself, there's a lot of blue gear waiting for you ( usually WAY better than pvp gear in every aspect of pve: tank, healing and dps )

I did. I was relieved when I hit 70. First thing right after dinging 70:

Nice and clean quest log ready for raiding quests.

I clean out the quest log, often because I end up with only group quests and it's 3AM. I do rep quests later, once I have some better gear but BGs/Raids all the way :)

before dailies were introduced, I did almost all the nagrand quests, all of netherstorm (and I do mean all, used wowhead to make sure I got them), nearly all of shadowmoon, and a great deal of blade's edge just for money. Wonder if I'll get that loremaster title...

I do them all with my main, with an alt i'll be less enthusiastic about it (though i ended up doing most of the OL ones twice as it was before the up to 25 quests).
It's not a priority, ie i'll do instances and raids mainly and some quests in-between, but i do aim to do as many quests i can, because i like to read/live the story and there are always some funny things out there you only experience through quests (the trampoline in Nagrand, robot fight in Netherstorm, rocket helmet, ...).
That and my main will get the Loremaster title (which i'll have to do lots of gray quest in vanilla to get, but whatever).
