And what races did you have in mind?
Lemme skim over all the common ones:
Pandaren
: The favorite, but unfotunately, they're you know, sacred to the Chinese. Now there are lots of ways Blizz can get around that and try not to make China mad, but I'm betting their legal guys aren't letting them, hence them having not appeared in the game yet.
Goblins
: Entirely neutral, the only time they ever took sides is in the Second War when a single goblin trade-prince hired his goblins out to the Horde. He "learned the errors of his ways" and all goblins regonize that as a mistake. Playing both sides against eacher makes more money after all...
Ethereals
: See Goblins.
Arrakoa
: No real reason not too, other than the ones who are not evil are closer friends with the neutral Shat'tar than the Alliance or Horde.
Ogres
: Most don't pick sides in the Alliance/Horde conflict, and the ones don't hang around long.

New race and class, Goblin Sapper.
Demolitionist? starts with dwarven training?
Archmage? Only seem to be High Elf and Humans that I've seen, so I'm not sure about the race thing. There are already these in game, Arugal, Aran, Khadgar, Rhonin, Xylem...lots of them around. Could be Violet Eye rep, or even Kirin Tor.
Warden? Not as many in game I don't think, but good choice I think.
Not sure about Demon Hunter, they don't seem to wear anything...but as a raiding rogue who has never touched a set of war glaives, I'd roll one just to get some :P
Will just have to wait and see :D
Again, goblins don't pick sides anymore, and I think a neutral race would be too complicated, and go against BLizzard's intentions.
No Arch-anything, unless they find a way to make it waaaaaaay different than the original, i.e. Archdr00d cannot shapeshift, but works like Diablo 2 Necromancer, except with plants and tree-keepers and stuff (just an on the fly thought, didn't play War3 except for the demo, so I don't know what exactly they do).
Demon Hunter is my favorite choice, only one problem, most of their abilities have already been given to Warlocks, namely,
Metamorphosis
.
I'm thinking Runemaster will be the next one, though on the heels of Death Knights and their runes, I don't know if that's a wise idea...
Edit: Compiling a list of possibles in my opinion...

Alright, some new Classes & Races I have just been thinking of for
AWHILE
xD
Races
Ogres
- Could join the Horde. Why? Due to ugliness (No offense to any Horde players) and because they practice in Shamanistic powers, along with Shadowism (Whatever you call Warlocks), Warriors, Magi and Hunters. They a good Race. Would be kind of hard to get some Lore to get 'em on the Horde side, but I bet Blizz could do it xD
Elementals
- Could really be either Faction... Why? Due to they really only work for Shamans that have control. Or Mages that are powerful enough to control them. At level 10 you could chose from 3 paths (Talents):
Frost
Fire
Air
Frost would be a blue Elemental, Fire would be a red Elemental, Air would be the gray-ish white Elemental. Pretty goodish?
Classes
Witch Doctor
- Uses poisons, potions and herbs to defeat their enemies.
Demon Hunter
- Uses Demonic powers and Glaives to defeat their enemies.
So, how about it? Like any of them lol?

Okay, let me debunk these...
Ogres
- Ogres have been at war with Orcs for thousands of years. They were made use of as enforcers by Gul'dan in the Second war, but for the most part, they hate Orcs.
Originally from Draenor, ogres were one of the last races of Draenor's giants. Some orc scholars believe the ogres were once intelligent and the dominant species of Draenor before the orcs rose to power. Orcs ruthlessly conquered ogre territory, enslaving or killing the ogres as they went; the war between the two races lasted quite a while, fueled by corruption from demonic forces. Soon the ogres were broken, the race either forced into exile or enslaved and used in experiments.
To this day, most ogres hate orcs with a passion, remembering the wars they fought against each other
.--Horde Player's Guide
Elementals
- This is just silly, what classes would they have? Shaman? No, Shamans control elementals. Mage? Nope, see Shaman. Not to mention the fact that the only mortals Elementals serve are Shaman, and so you wouldn't find them working for Horde or Alliance, only going about on their merry way, making war with the other elements. I mean, can you see a Fire elemental going and killing kobolds for some poor farmer?
And don't even get me started on the fact that any ol' Warlock could banish them at will...
Witch Doctor
- Good idea, but Witch Doctors would be hard to seperate from Shaman and Druids from what I've seen.
Demon Hunter
- I'd love to see it happen, I really would. Trust me, I'd really love to have a "Demon Vision" stance (meaning in the stance bar, like stealth, or pally auras), but too many of their abilites have been cannabalized by Warlocks. The biggest being Metamorphosis. That was their signature ability in WC3, but now that Warlocks have it, there really is little to no hope of it ever happening. :(

Only pheasable 3rd faction I can see would be the Naga. But that would be a single race faction. Many would say, make it Naga + Murloc, but the Naga and Murlocs are enemies.

I think too many new races or hero factions would feel gimmicky. Here how I think it should be.
Don't add any more races, I mean, I'd love to play an Alliance High Elf, but it's just not practical with Blood Elves already in the game.
Only add as many Hero Classes as can be made unique and fun. I mean, I'd like to see Runemaster, and several other Hero Classes, but if they just pump out one random Hero Class with every expansion, soon the game is filled with unbalanced or nonunique classes.
Then focues on the content. Make new content that doesn't feel forced or random ("Hey, let's have the players go to Undermine for no reason!"). When you start running out of unresolved stuff to fix, put a hold on expansions, throw out a major content patch or two to keep the players happy (you know, just ying up any loose ends left that weren't big enough for their own spot in the expansion), and then put more resources (pardon the pun) into Warcraft 4, where you can write in whole new conflicts for players to reslove, and hopefully you'll have plenty of leftovers for WoW (I'd try to keep moving forward in the Meta-Story with WoW somewhat slow, as it angers fans of the RTS games that don't play WoW).

What I would like to see is cross factions. I don't think that's the right term but what I mean is, perhaps when you roll a toon no matter what race it is you get to choose whether it's an Alliance or Horde.
Now I realize that it might not be the best of ideas but I would be interested to see how it would play out.
in everquest 2, I think there is some kind of quest line that allows someone to become a 'traitor' and defect to the other faction. I would like to see something like that happen.Yeah, my character in my "fan-lore" did something like that. In fact, his whole clan followed him. But think of what that would do to PvP? Like in BGs, not Arena. Not to mention the social stigma that would be attached most crossover toons.

I'll go ahead and "un-debunk" this one.
The Stonemaul Ogre tribe in Dustwallow Marsh are members of the new Horde.
Alright, touché, but what Alliance race would you counter it with?

Worgen? *grin*
Ha, I wish. Blizzard's never going to do anything with Gilneas, and even if they did I doubt it'd be
that
