It's not that they die too quickly (they do die fast), it's that I don't seem to be doing much. For much of the fight, I'm just sitting there waiting for CDs, literally not touching KB or mouse, just auto-hitting. Seems weird somehow (especially compared to my other toons, where you are always doing _something_).
Then you should be running to the next group of mobs. See how many you can round up without dieing. Thats where your action is. Dont just sit still till a few drop dead. She can cast other spells besides Blizzard over and over too.

Just leveled him from 44-80 last month, but 44 != 30, so maybe I'm just remembering it differently.
Very differently. Shield Slam, Warbringer, reduction in rage costs, it all adds up for a more interesting game because you have more freedom to use your abilities.
You need to have a slow two hander and Seal of Command.
I just noticed this point. Weapon speed doesn't impact DPS at lower levels. Only starts benefiting at L50 when SoC starts proc'ing on non-'melee' attacks. (I don't think SoC procs on Judgement?)

By slow... I mean fast. :P

Is Improved Dev Aura worth the points while leveling? I only ask as I have used Dev Aura maybe once or twice (rarity, even in an instance). I see more benefit in Imp Hammer of Justice (as interrupters in instances are hit or miss) and 5/5 toughness.
Also on the way to Hammer of Righteous, I need to choose between Touched by the Light, Guarded by the Light, and Judgements of the Just. All three from a leveling/low-level instance standpoint seem sort of bleh. I am planning on eschewing Guarded by the Light as refreshing Divine Plea seems more of a raid talent and the spell damage mitigation is nice, but the other talents' increase in damage seems to be the better option. Am I missing something with these talents?

The 6% healing is for any aura.
The core stuff you want starts from iRighteous Fury and goes down the middle every other. iRF -> Sanctuary -> HS -> Ect

In a nice way, you are so, so wrong. You want the Guarded by the Light talent - that non-stop Divine Plea is what will be keeping your mana up. You can't always rely on BoS and Spiritual Attunement, if you take it.
But you don't get Divine Plea until 71. So, for a level 60 paladin, Guarded by the Light seems rather useless.
Here is my planned level 60 spec:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#sZV0xAMzTusIucd
.
I think the question is whether to take 2 points out of iHoJ and one out of Toughness to put 3 into iDA as most times until now (I am level 47), the healers have not had a problem healing me and the iHoJ has made some fights faster as I can interrupt the healers more frequently. I guess until my wife squawks (she is my healer), there is no need to change.
At 71, I plan on putting points into Ret (with last 2 in Guarded by the Light):

. And then finish up in the Ret tree.

Honestly I think you are doing everything fine. I am way over geared for level 80 heroics and it is basically the same thing at that level I grab them and the mobs die before I get from 9696.dead :)
It may seem boring but that is what dual spec is for.
If your bored don;t forget that you gain experience in pvp battlegrounds now also. prot pally mage combos are unstoppable.
you kite them while she pwns them :p

I was lucky enough to get my SO to make a priest. So you can imagine the pulls, and she
freaks out
if I start to get near death while leveling so I always like to get close to death LOL :D
