Gotta love a good healer for heroics. I had a T6 resto shammy in a heroic Bot run. Nothing makes you feel happier as a tank than seeing the healer's lightning bolts and earthshocks hitting the target while tanking heroic bosses.
I had a bad healing experience just the other day. Partial S1 geared feral tank doing heroic UB. He pulled the dual bog lords, and we wiped because he didn't hold aggro and I had to shift into bear. So, I swap to my priest becase 19k armor with 23% dodge just isn't enough for that fight without some really good heals, so I fly there, get in, party buff everyone, and I'm drinking because I'm pvp disc, and drinking takes forever, and sitting at about 80 yard range at 30% mana after 3 party buffs and a res and heal. Sit down to drink, and the druid starts heading for the pull. I'm thinking ok, he can't be stupid enough to pull after I told him 3 times this is the hardest pull in the instance. Yep, healer at 80 yards with 40% mana and he pulls. Then they cuss me out because by the time I got in range, tank was at 30% taking 2-2.8k hits, flash, flash, pom, flash, crap he's dead. They insult me for the wipe, then insult me for "not even being holy", put me on ignore, and bail. At 1660+healing, I can heal that crap as shadow... But only if I have mana and I'm in range to cast greater heal before he dies! Let alone not having PoM and renew up because, oh yeah, I don't have an instant 10k heal....
I was so p1ssed. Evidently if you can't heal 6k every 2 seconds when the tank is at 30%, you fail as a healer.... I don't even need to point fingers at who was stupid in the group, certain people are never grouping with me again.

Last night we did Underbog with a group like this:
Fury Warrior (Tank)
Affliction Warlock (DPS)
Affliction Warlock (DPS)
Shadow Priest (Utility)
Holy Priest (Healing)
Needless to say, fury warrior wasn't able to hold aggro and we had no cc whatsoever. The mobs attacked me sometimes after the first greater heal on the "tank". They were especially heavy on the shadow priest for some reason. I wasn't able to save everyone all the time, but nobody blamed me for it.
Anyhow, the point is: THE PEOPLE WERE NICE! They considered other players and waited for them to drink, took advice from each other, planned together. In my world, it makes up for the lack of many prospects which would have made the group better. And eventually, the three bosses went down, of course! :-)
Had the people in that kinda group been arrogant, it would have been a disaster! We all realized that it was the composition of the group that wasn't ideal, and nobody blamed others for the two wipes that occurred. Everyone did their job with enough discipline.
Would you have joined a group like that? :-)

Just stay put drinking (or if you get in combat, run out of the instance, its easily doable there) and tell him not to pull when you're not ready. No one can blame you for not being ready, but if people see you fail at what you try to do, no matter why, they're likely to think less of you.
You demonstrate that its not your fault, hopefully teach the tank a lesson, save some stress and a repair bill all in one go.

I was in a kara run specificly for badges, and the healers in the party were my self, a holy priest, another holy priest (who was a lot better geared then me) and a holy paly (who was mostly dps not a healer) and as tanks we had a prot warrior and a paly.
Each time we killed the boss or were to shackle I would whisper the priest of what he will be healing and shackling, he never gave me the respond. So I would of heal the paly tank and the whole raid, and the warrior tank as well ( when the other healer was ONLY healing him ). And I would mostly use either renew or flash heal just healing the raid. And yeah I had my mana run out on big pulls but I always knew how to keep my mana at a decent level.
So we got up to nightbane and the other healer was ONLY healing the tank warrior just like he was healing him the whole entire raid. And because I was trying to keep the raid alive so there would be dps as well, I would also heal the tank and at some point I tryed healing somebody I didn't managed to heal the tank, and the tank died, so the other healer started screaming at me on vent how I should have not use flash heal at all because it uses up a lot of mana, when I had about 5k mana still and he had about 2k. Then he left the raid - he said he does not want to wipe in raid.
I usually don't have any problems with anybody and I especially try to get along with other healers - since I am a healer as well. And the priest made me feel really bad about it, but then I just got a little bit annoyed because it seemed like he was trying to find a scapegoat.

I am IDS spec with around 1950 +heal self buffed and over 200mp5. I can handle most things so long as I have time for the heal to land.
I recently had the most abysmal Kara PUG run, half my guild and half not.
Sadly it was not just my non guildies who were making mistakes. People were pulling agro left right and centre and we had way too many warriors for my liking (2 prot 2 fury) plus an enhancement shammy who wasn't watching his agro.
As a result of all this the fury warrs and enhance shammy kept dying so they began to complain. Sadly the raid leader (and MT) didnt tell them to shut up and watch their agro, but instead to make sure we healers covered everyone. As a result the OT got killed because my heal was 0.5sec away from landing on him.
So he began to QQ as well.
At this point I just felt like giving up and going home.
I raid T5 content regularly (and sucessfully normally) and yet this PUG wiped on trash and Maiden before failing to down Nightbane, and the healers were getting the blame!
It just goes to show, there are nabs everywhere, even in your own guild. PUGs can work, but it is quite rare. People who don't understand healing classes will always blame them, and DPS who can't watch their agro will inevitably die.
I can only take solace in the fact that I was doing my best and that I wasn't the one pulling agro off the tanks.
In contrast I recently ran Heroic Bot in a pug with a prot warr, subtlety rogue, arcane mage and fury warr.
The fury warr pulled agro ocasionally, but for the most part was controlled. When he did die he accepted it was because he had pulled agro off the tank, and not once complained. He even thanked me at the end for "good healing".
It is nice to see that, even when things don't always go to plan, people can still be polite and appreciate that you are doing all you can to keep everyone alive.

I'm actually pretty new to healing, normally I tank and DPS. But really, it sounds as if you're in the right. As a tank, if my healer is below 50%, I'll mark the targets, but that's it. Once they hit 75%, then I'll go in. Its a bit easier because I'm a tankadin, but if I was tanking with my war or drood I might go sooner so I don't waste the rage.
I do the same. I have a warlock and a Palatank. When tanking, the ones that really care are the healer and the tank (much better if all two run on mana just because we don't need to worry for a rage bar going down).
If my healer is around 50% I don't start marking the targets. Wait to see it seated drinking and see their mana bar raising. And of course. I start the pull when the healer is ready and the dps too (at least, two of them). I prefeer to spend some seconds more than risking for a silly wipe.

Ok, so I just this just happened today and when it did I thought of this thread.
: healer lfg sfk
*invite*
hello, so who's tanking
look at my stamina, I'll tank
I think we can 4 man this
*invites hunter*
*invites rogue*
Well firstly, you should never let a hunter tank unless they are boosting you (and it sounds like he wasn't).
Having been a hunter I know that hunters shouldn't get hit (especially below lvl 40) and pets can't hold agro. They certainly can't multitank, a requirement for SFK due to the way the packs pull.
One other thing about hunters...Mend Pet.
A simple HoT that would have helped you massively if the "twink" had any idea of how to play. This is just another sad indication to me that twinks really do fail.
Next point; every other member of your group had an agro dump! This means you
will
get pwned as you can't drop your agro, so when they drop theirs it will land on you. There is absolutely nothing you can do about this, so don't let a bunch of retards who can't work in a group get to you.
Besides not leaving when I should have, I don't think that I did anything wrong. No one died but me. I kept them all alive. That was my job. Dps pulled aggro only because the *tank* couldn't keep it. I haven't had a negative experience healing until today, but I can't help feeling a little discouraged.
The only thing you did wrong was stay in a group with people who obviously don't know how to work in a group.
Sadly this is quite common during the first 30 levels or so of the game. SM tends to weed out those who can and those who can't.
Don't let one group of idiots get you down. It sounds like you did well if you kept them all up, and they did badly in letting you die (hunters have traps, rogues have gouge, all tools for incapacitating the mobs that are going for the healer).
Try to find people you can work with as you level. They are rare, but they exist. You just need to be patient and keep on levelling. As you get higher up you will find more players who know how to work well in groups and who will make sure you don't die.

When I'm healing, I usually get upset that the tanks are waiting too long between pulls. even if I'm at 40% mana, i'm very good for most pulls, no reason to wait for me to top off. Though once I start drinking, I hate being interrupted > >
As a priest, usually never drink except before a boss / after a wipe.
