druids start off fairly weak, but every level greatly increases their power.

in taking two mobs your level its good to start off in stealth, ravage, claw, claw, fero bite/rip, then go bear form and auto attack the mob to death, from there just keep auto attacking the 2nd mob with mauls whenever you can spare the rage, and put demo roar up to reduce damage. when you get low on health, bash the mob, unshift and heal yourself, then from there use either cat form or bear form to finish the mob off.

i remember being able to solo 5-6 pirates in tanaris when i was level 44ish. (dire bear form)

if mobs are more than 2 levels higher than you, you will have a difficult time with them, regardless of class. just try to go to another zone and come back 2 levels later

just remember, you dont do as much damage as a rogue, you don't have as many stuns as a rogue, but you DO have heals.

if you're a tauren (which i am), you have plenty of "lives" (like a paladin)

1st life - war stomp (2 second stun) + regrowth (2 second cast) + rejuv + and later, lifebloom
use a macro to make sure the regrowth goes off
2nd life - barkskin + healing touch + regrowth + rejuv + lifebloom if you have it
3rd life - bash + regrowth + rejuv + lifebloom + innervate yourself or mana pot
4th life - warstomp (cooldown should be up by now) + regrowth + rejuv + lifebloom
5th life - barkskin (cooldown should be up) + HT + regrowth + rejuv + lifebloom
6th life - bash + regrowth + rejuv + lifebloom (be weary of your mana. depending on your mana you may not have the mana to get this many heals off)
heal early in the fight, remember, you are a lot more vulnerable outside of bear form.
and if you haven't killed the mobs yet after that many heals, then you're simply taking on too many mobs at once =)
use your roots CC as mentioned above, and don't use cat form to take on 3 or more mobs, you'll take way too much damage.

in outlands when you get maim, you can really start soloing single elites by yourself with the method described, and maim to heal yourself.

k0rr is exactly right. As you learn to play your druid, try to keep yourself active. When I started, I would open with ravage, rake, claw x3, rip, rinse and repeat. Especially once I got into my late 3x and 4x, I started to do BGs more and started thinking more about how effective I could be. I re-specced to make this more possible feral-specced.

Cat form, as of now, is good dps but the survivability leaves something to be desired. If you stay in cat form, you're essentially a gimped rogue. If you shift in-and-out of forms and use abilities of all types, you're a druid. Start out in cat form until you can get a 5cp rip off, war stomp, rejuvenation, and switch to bear form. Bear's DPS isn't great, but the damage:survivability ratio is much better than cat form. This strategy will work even better once you hit Lv40 and get dire bear form, but it should still work now. If you decide to re-spec, I'm a big fan of getting Furor 5/5 early for easier shifting, especially as it translates to a free Bash once you shift.

This is something that every druid player has to learn on his or her own really, so play around with it a bit and you'll develop a feel for it. Last thing from me: Don't forget about hibernate. I'm surprised how many druids forget this ability, especially considering that a large percentage of the mobs that we level off of are beasts.
