i dont think primal tenacity will be that required
the fact that you are feared is the problem, not the duration of it
i like the new druid talent trees, you have to make some choices, you cant have anything you want anymore

i'll probably be going with something along the lines of...
http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?druid=50203213232221005312035031351005500010000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
PvE tank/DPS
2/3 feral instinct because, well, swipe is great but situationally used, and you dont need the +stealth in raids
was able to get most if the crucial dpsing and tanking talents except natural reaction (which i figure gemming agi can help reduce the need for it) and primal tenacity (i figure having -12% damage taken from mother bear and 4 party members should be more useful because not every boss stuns or fears)
infected wounds can be replaced by thunderclap + frostbolt, to me its more of a pvp talent than a pve talent
all while still having enough points to get clearcasting in the resto tree
this should be a viable MT spec, but gives you all the talents needed to dish out rogue-level dps too

TLDR. But i'll say this. Master Shapeshifter isn't the absolutely best choice if you're going FULL-OUT tanking (not like "ah fck it ima tank this sht now", but srsly that you're the tank). The points that spent in resto could've been put to better use in feral.
Something like
this
...
It's got Furor, Naturalist and
OoC
in resto, all of which are excellent.
Feral tree:
The talents i took in
the first 3 tiers
are mandatory. Nothing to discuss here.
4th tier
is ok too, no need for
Primal Precision
(i've never had any probs with hitting targets as a tank, but if you got some probs with hit/experise rating...take it).
Nothing to discuss at
5th and 6th tiers
, mandatory.
7th:
i dunno about you guys, but i absolutely love
Imp LOTP
. With the new amounts of health we're getting in WoTLK it's only better.
8th:
Mother bear - excellent new talent.
Predatory instincts
is my personal fav so i take it.
Infected wounds
- well, 2/3 is enough imo. You need it as a tank, but you (me, personally) don't need all 3 points in it.
9th:
KotJ
is useless for tanks imo, personal opinion.
Imp Mangle
means more Mangles - more threat.
RnT
and Berserk are awesome, take em.

My above build was pure tank.
A DPS build, in my opinion, is something like
this.
It's got the necessary 16 talents in resto (srsly, 4% crit from Master Shapeshifter is OP)
Imp Leader of The Pact is fantastic, yeah, but as a DPS it's not of much use, because we aint utilizin', we're maximizin' damage.
1/3 Infected Wounds is enough. You can even take it out and put it in Feral Charge.

I really don't like the idea of making pure Bear talents like Natural Reaction and Mother Bear. Now in TBC druid can both tank and DPS with the same talents. In my opinion they should leave it unchanged. Either remove these talents or change it in some way to add benefits for Cat form.
That's the problem. They WANT Druids to have to choose their specialization.

That aint a problem. You can have your "I can OT and DPS with the same spec" sht. Blizzard just allowed druids to perform well as a MT (sacrifing some dps in the process, and vice versa).

To be more specific, I meant that's the problem with Puzo getting things to stay the way they are -- not that Blizzard's new philosophy is a problem.

For sure, I would like to be considered as viable dps and a viable tank based on spec. Mainly because we rock as tanks, but are only descent to "keeping up" as dps. More prowess for the sacrafice of tanking skills? Yes please. You can still tank and be "adequate" as a dps, so you can still off tank and dps, or main tank and dps when the situation calls for a different type of tank. You will just be a BETTER dps if you spec for it, as well as a VIABLE main tank if you spec for that.
