Water you buy from the vendor doesn't despawn 15 minutes after you log off. And your food doesn't provide buffs like cook's food.

If you can get someone to pay for it then more power to you really. Nothing that says you can't charge for it. People paying for it might be another matter thou.

Much like what Caribou said if it's a party/raid or whatever I don't charge it's expected, but if it's someone random coming up and begging me. My time, my energy and my want so it's my will to charge whatever I feel like for food/water/ports or anything else that happens to cross my mind, and if you're really nice I'll even toss in a 60min int buff for free.
Be a jerk, and the price rises very quickly. 8g for a port, 6g for food or water per stack, maybe more. Proper english helps too.
