I thought using /me came up as "rude gestures", at least thats what I was told rude gestures meant when coming from an enemy.

Dunno what happens when you just hit Enter after an unadorned "/me" (or while targetting another player), but "/me wonders if it's okay for him to skin these corpses?" would come out as, in /emote orange, "Gumog wonders if it's okay for him to skin these corpses?".
'Course there are plenty of rude emotes around (/spit, /laugh, /fart, etc.) if you need that sort of thing (personally, I mainly just stick to /spit from the rude ones and really only use it for kill stealers , scum who wait 'til I'm on the last foe or two by a resource to come in and take it for themselves while I'm distracted, level 70 asses who camp at the flight master and important quest givers , etc.).

More or less. Except it's "strange" gestures rather than "rude."

Some 8-12 year old kids think that Alliance is ''good'' side (might be true but I don't belive that)

So only good Alliance is Role Players (atleast Heavy Role Players)
Like I am (:P)

For the life of me, I still don't understand what people are referencing when they say that Alliance/Horde is full of 12-year-olds, and the like. I doubt that's the result of any exhaustive study, and probably not that much empirical data.
So you've dealt with a lot of Alliance/Horde who were jerks and realized they were kids? So...that's, what, the experiences of one person out of the 10 million or so subscribers? And also, since cross-faction communication isn't possible...what? You thought someone was a kid, then made a different character on that server on the Horde/Alliance side, flagged down that annoying night elf hunter/undead rogue, then asked their age - which you believed - and then made a list?
Seems just prejudicial, is all.
From a lore standpoint, though, the Horde and the Alliance have been at each other's throats for years, regardless of the reason. And relations are strained, even without outright war. I think one good example is the thing with the Silverwing Sentinels and the Warsong Outriders: The Sentinels can't stand watching the Horde destroy the forests for lumber, the Outriders can't stand the Sentinels encroaching on their lands and trying to keep them from resources for survival.
From the human perspective, I think it's right that it's less about hate than it is about rivalry. I'm UCLA, you're USC. A rivalry exists, and everyone knows about it. I'm supposed to not like you. But for the most part, that doesn't mean I'm going to break into your home and kill your family, or anything. It's just a rivalry.
I said "For the most part" because there certainly are people who take it waaaay too seriously. I'm not talking about PVP, something that by it's definition is supposed to be a life-or-death fight. I'm talking about that guy in your group outside of the Scarlet Monastery that will drop what he's doing (including a summon) because he just
has
to kill that Draenei shaman or Blood Elf Warlock who was flagged for PVP...even though there are about six or eight other Alliance/Horde characters, including those level 70s with Black Temple gear
standing right there
. But he just has to make a point, and hold up the entire group because he can't let "one of them get away".
...
...that guy needs to chill.

I believe it all just stems from competition. We have BGs and Arena that require us to be better than the opposing faction, so killing people from the other side whenever possible seems warranted.
I hate Alliance because I play Horde. I rolled Horde and devoted myself to the faction. What Thrall hates, I hate. Maybe that's a bit too RP for some of you, but WoW is, after all, an MMO
RPG
.
Edit:
Stupid misspelling.

On a similar subject, does anyone know of a show where the bad guy wins? 'Cause I, for the life of me, cannot think of any.
Because if the bad guys win then the show will end and they won't be able to release another 7 seasons, thus raking in moar $$$. l2beanevilcorperatemastermindandmakemadcash.

When they say that, what they actually mean is "...is full of players with the mentality of 12-year-olds." (ie, delighting in being s**t-disturbers and engaging in behaviours that they know annoys or shocks others purely for the sake of being annoying or shocking - ie, the same as when my generation were kids)

Ah. Perhaps I was not as clear as I intended.
I wasn't questioning what was meant by "acting like 12-year-olds". I was questioning the data behind it. Just because you personally had a bad experience with the Horde/Alliance doesn't mean that you can just say all of them are this, that, or the other.
I mean, if you're constantly getting harassed while you're doing your business in Stranglethorn or at the Scarlet Monastery, it's not really "Oh, the Horde is acting like a punk kid", or "Oh, that Alliance is acting like a punk kid." It's just some jerk who's screwing with you. He was a jerk before he met you, and will be a jerk long after you've left. He just happened to roll Horde/Alliance. And because it's easier to be a jerk to someone who can only use certain emotes in response, you're gonna get this cross faction...well, I'm going to stop there before I actually try to use the word "jerkiness". Doesn't feel right.
My point is that it's the player who's being difficult, not the entire faction. Actually, that's a subpoint. My main point is that I was just annoyed by people who say things like "Horde is full of gankers" or "Alliance is full of kids" without really backing it up with anything except "Well, this one time when I...". It just seems lazy.
In the words of *!@# Solomon (of 3rd Rock From The Sun fame), "Hate me for my brilliance! Hate me for my arrogance! Hate me for my cat-like dexterity! But don't hate me just
because
!"

What Thrall hates, I--
Ha! I love it! There's a signature line if I ever heard one. Good show!

Sounds rather like you have characters just on one side instead of characters on both sides (be it on the same PvE server or on a pair of PvP servers or a mix) like I'm fairly sure most here do. When you play both sides (as I do on Exodar) and can see the chat (especially in Trade chat) for both sides, you can easily tell which side is mainly made up the excessively immature and are qualified to pass judgement on the general tone of a side.

Twin Peaks. But you young'uns are probably too green and fresh from the vine to remember that crazy-ass show.
Hey you dumb kids -- get off my lawn!

No.
Both sides. I've got characters on both sides, both factions. I had mentioned that on my initial response to this post, which got...misplaced, and I didn't feel like going the same way.
But it's responses like this that illustrate my point: "...like I'm fairly sure most here do. When you play both sides and can see the chat for both sides, you can easily tell which side is mainly made up of the excessively immature..."
Even if you're not intending to, saying things like that makes it sound like you feel it's absolute fact that one side is more mature than the other. But by your own admission, you're only talking about one server (Exodar), and even then, it's just really your own experience.
Immaturity is not faction specific. I've seen that annoying murloc game at the bank in Ogrimmar, and on the bridge in Ironforge. You get people begging for gold, you get people making crude remarks...it happens on both sides. It's not just something that's a part of the Alliance, as you seem to be overtly implying.
Heck, you can even ask. Next time you're on that server, on either Horde side or Alliance side, and someone starts doing something stupid in trade, just say something like "Man, I bet they don't have this on Alliance/Horde". I'm willing to betcha that you'll get the response "No, they have it there, too. I have this alt...".
I mean, even reading through the posts on Wowhead indicates that immaturity is an even split down the middle, Thrall or Jaina be pleased.
So, to be clear? I play "both sides", on
more
than one server (I get bored and switch a lot), and even then, one cannot "easily tell which side is made up of the excessively immature", for the simple fact that any
one
side is not made up of the excessively immature.
But if you go in just thinking that, it's not hard to find examples to "prove" that. You spend an hour in trade in Stormwind listening to murloc jokes and some of the other more recent idiocy, and of course, it's the entire Alliance who's childish and immature, not just those people who happen to be in trade right then. It's more than just trade, y'know? People are also out playing the game, questing, instance, raiding...you can't just base it on what people do when they're "resting".
