Lucsoke... I noticed EVERYTHING you have is socketed hit rather than pure DPS stats with the exception of the gems needed to meet a meta bonus. Im assuming thats more valuable than socketing pure agility or something?
in general hit is your best socketed stat, so you socket hit and get meta requirement, the only reason to socket agi instead of hit is because you're going to cap on hit

In addition. Your rotations and openers depend on who your fighting and who is your tank is as well :)
Can't wait to hear an explanation of this. It ought to be fairly funny.
Sure go ahead and stunlock a caster while a warrior is trying to build rage.
we're talking about raiding, you never stun.
we're talking about WWS, we're talking about bosses, they're not even stunnable for the most part.
read the thread.
I read the thread smart @$$...
If YOU were reading correctly you'd see where I quoted and added an addition to his post regarding rotations/openers while leveling assuming doing instances/dungeons as part of the leveling process.
Just listen to lucsoke and pete. They seem to know it all .. @#$% everyone everyone else right?
I'm done here.
Reaper good luck with your guild and your rogues. My hunter has been on vacation for quite sometime now as you can probably tell since I have not posted in hunters forum for awhile.

ok heres a
WWS
just from part of ZA last night.
Pathosyn is a fill in from the guild and not a regular raider. Dont rip him apart just explain to me how to analyze the report if you would. The only boss on the report is Akilzon... a strait stand and dps fight for melee...

so high numbers on SnD are bad right? that means he let it drop and re did it 7 times? and if you refresh it bebore it drops it should stay at 1 correct?

I could see 3 on a tank and spank, put it up once and have two "oops" moments, that's room for improvement, but anything like 7... he's probably not understanding what he's doing.

It looks like refreshes of s&d were being recorded as seperate counts regardless of whether it was refreshed or dropped and recast. I made sure that it was always a refresh on the first boss.
If that were true, you'd have far more than 2, 3 and 5 on those 4 bosses. The SnDs fell off and were restarted.
nah dude, bosses die in like 40 second in his raid group.

How to analyse a rogue WWS:
1: check and see how many times SnD dropped.
His dropped 6 times, which is 6 times to many. Most decent rogues probably average around 1 dropped SnD a boss fight, which will probably be due to a bad combat potency run or something like that, but your still always aiming for that magic number of one on the wws. For example, on minxettes you see he dropped it twice, once presumably because he got gusted (you can see that in the debuffs), and once presumably because of a bad cp run. Obviously on fights with lots of movement there's much more chance to have it drop off, so on fights like supremus and archimonde its not necessarily a bad thing.
2: check the % of total damage done from abilities.
For combat spec'd rogues with good SnD uptime, normal white attacks (marked as "swing" on wws) usually make up around 55-65% of total damage. If they have a shaman dropping windfury, that number can go higher (as seen in minxettes wws) because wws can't differentiate between normal swings and the extra hits from windfury or sword specialization.
There should be 1 eviscerate for every 5 minutes the fight lasts, starting at about the 15 second mark, plus maybe one extra from when the boss is around 1%. Rogues should be able to weave in an eviscerate when they use adrenaline rush, which has a 5 minute cooldown, but shouldn't otherwise be using it unless there wont be enough time for rupture to time out (hence one around the 1% mark). Rupture should be the main finisher otherwise.
Deadly poison should be used on every boss fight that doesn't have a gimmick where it needs a mind numbing or wound poison applied (maulgar or najentus are two like that). Instant poison should be used on the other weapon if windfury is not available. In your wws pathosyn was using dual instant i'm guessing (no shaman and no dp), which is not optimal.
Most of the damage left on the wws should either be from sinister strike or backstab, never both, and never shiv. Pathosyn used all three. If your a dagger spec'd rogue, you use only backstab. If your any other weapon spec, you use only sinister strike. The arcane strike is from the scryers/shattered sun rep neck so don't worry about that.
3: Make sure they are using their cooldowns when they are up.
5.5 min fight on your wws, and he used blade flurry three times (2m cooldown), adrenaline rush once (5m cooldown), and his bloodlust brooch trinket three times (2m cooldown), so he's using his cooldowns appropriately.
Other than those three theres not much analyzing you can do in regards to dps cycles and the like. Theres almost always still room for improvement gearwise/enchants/gems/consumables though, so try and get your rogues to use the best of whats available so that they do the best dps they can at whatever progression level your at.

we will be in Hyjal tonight for Rage should we have all of our ppl available. at least one of our rogues will be there (more than likely Zalast, Gypsy will be on his hunter). If it goes down I'll have a log up.
