How to kill a shaman?

So we ran into quite a few shaman teams last night in arena. Resto's are nearly impossible to kill with a hunter. The question.
Do you dispel the water shield? Or do you let it sit until you kill everyone else, then move on to the shaman? Evidently,
water shield
is a MANA FREE dispellable! WTF? On top of that, it HAS NO CD! Since when do buff's not cost mana? Even locks have to use mana for mana drain. Priests use mana for shadow fiend and DS. Pallies use mana for BoW. WHY ISN'T THIS NERFED? Spend 1200 mana in 6 seconds trying to keep this stupid buff dispelled while the sham isn't using any mana at all. Top that off, this is the MOST mana return of any buff, and can be used whenever.
So, should I not even bother dispelling his water shield and wait till he switches to earth shield? Dispel that and cc him so he can't heal himself and try to burn the mana he just gained? Evidently you can't keep a shaman oom while attacking him, and they regen more than any other pvp geared class. We litterally played against a sham who was at 5% and oom(lagged apparently, cause his earth shield wasn't showing), healed more than the hunter's dps just thru that cause of his kiting, and gained 1000 mana and healed himself back to full health before his spriest partner came back from a d/c.

Restoration druids will regen far more mana than shamans. Perhaps the hunter was using their pet against a shaman, which is basically a free mana battery. 200 mana every 3 seconds for them.
Hunters have a difficult time against shamans if LoS is usable against them, but that's pretty much every class.
water shield used to cost mana, but that made it not very good to use in pve because it put you in the five second rule. Shamans used to have all sorts of mana issues in pve, so they were given a big revamp for all builds. They added Shamanistic Focus for enhancement, they increased mana stream totem, and they changed water shield from a laughable spell to something useful (WS used to only give you mana when hit, it would only passively give you mana if its duration ran out).
So, for once, a beneficial class change was made for a PvE need. (most class changes since 2.0 came from pvp whiners, like giving hunters a dispel magic on one of their most used abilities... thank god it's getting moved to tranq shot in LK).
Since earth shield can be dispelled by 6 different classes (5 in pvp), I think it's a good trade-off since their 41 point talent is basically useless.

I'm all for the spell. I just think it should cost mana. Druid's can't regen 700 mana in 9 seconds without innervate. Especially in pvp gear. 3 minute cd. If they want WS to be free, it should have a 10 sec cd. If they want to be able to spam it, it should cost at least 120-220 mana. Mana burning a sham and then they almost instantly have enough mana for a heal is too much. NO class can do that other than a sham cause of their op buff. I wouldn't even complain if they could cast it on someone else so they can regen from it. Just make it cost something, either time or mana, idc.
For the record, any buff should put you into the 5sr. It's a cast. Every class has to deal with this. Not like shams worry about the 5sr anyways. Mp5 all the way. That's why they gave the WS a 50 mp5 buff. Great. I'm all for it. Every healer should have a regen buff. Druids don't get one. Priest's costs 550 mana, paladin's costs 150 mana. Innervate even costs mana. There is no such thing as a free spell! It needs a nerf. I'm not saying make it useless. I'm saying make it so it's not available for at least 5-8 seconds after someone just drained ALL your mana. It's his fault for being in LoS, and he needs to pay for it. Not get free mana back. In PVP, shams regen more than anyone else. Especially with their free, spamable buff.
I don't think any sham would complain about a 10 minute buff that costs 120-150 mana that gives them 50mp5 and regens their mana when struck. Well, now they would since it's OP FREE atm!

Besides, shamans would give all of that up for a single CC/Anti-CC.

For the record, any buff should put you into the 5sr. It's a cast.
doesn't matter if it's a cast or not. If it doesn't cost mana then it doesn't activate the 5sr, that's just how it is.
shaman are one of the priests anti classes (purge+earthshock+totems), get used to it or roll with a shaman-killing class (such a warlock).
you have a drain team (priest/hunter is a drain team) you will have troubles with a shammy. that's how the rock/paper/scissors system that we call pvp works.
dispell earthshield and don't bother mana burning the shammy. attempt to separate their team and nuke the dps while the shammy is out of LoS/CC'd
always make sure to wand/SW:D the totems before fearing. besides that? you're a priest... start praying xD

outdps and silence. he cant heal if he is locked out of casting.
dont mana burn, its a pointless factor other than in 5v5 when earth shield is usually flying around.

I've run into this problem countless times. Its ridicolous sometimes. i have almost came to tears in BG's as 6 guys are trying to kill a shaman and all he does is Instant heal after instant heal. I mana burn him a billion times and i run out of mana before he does lol... jk . But after 6 of us are pretty much trying to kill this guy and we all stop trying pretty much at the same time when we realized we arnt getting anywhere except now there are 5 people now trying to kill us.
And since when did shammys get instant heals? (not counting NS since its a 3min CD) Sure, we have earthshield which gives us 100% pushback resistance on heals when coupled with healing focus but no instant heal.
Unless you were refering to natures guardian proccs (50% chance to regain 10% of max hp when struck with less than 30% hp left. 5sec CD) But with 6 ppl hitting the shaman this shouldn't be a real problem, as long as someone is interrupting his/her casted heals (with 100% pushback resistance :P)
Granted, my resto shammy is only lvl 61, but I'd imagine that casting watershield instead of earth shield with enough ppl wailing on me would be suicide
A thing that I just thought about, is that both resto speccs seem to have better survivability than the two holy speccs, but the holy speccs seem to have higher dmg output (well, atleast priest with surge of light) and slighly better healing. (I.e. Resto is more pvp than holy, while holy is better for pve)
Oh, and nothing beats the feeling of having about 10 mobs attack you and not having to give them THAT much thought.
