So I was in the instance called Mana-tombs just with some random pug and this
item
had dropped and one of the party members (a rogue) insisted he needed that item. His excuse: "I'm a rogue and I use combo points."
Even after the whole group explained to him that it was a druid item (because only druids can use relic slots), he still rolled "need" on it.
I know I am not a pro or anything but that one remark just made LOL for the longest time. "Because I'm a rogue and I use combo points!" ROFL
Seriously, some people just need to L2play.
There could be a million reasons why he thought he needed that item. It sounds like this particular person is pretty young (like 10, or something) and probably didn't understand that he could not use the item. It's also possible he bought his account off eBay or some illegal website. We'll never know for sure, but you shouldn't automatically he's a noobie just because he thought he could use the item.

I can just imagine a little kid trying desperately to fit that idol into his ranged slot, or wherever. :D

There are other places on your body than equipment slots where you can put things like that.
Totally. After all,
this thread
on the Rogue forums shows where an Assassination Rogue can put his fist weapons...

I had a similar thing happen when in a group with another druid- It's a blue item everyone passes including me- I assume that the other druid and I roll on it. He hits need. I guess I should be a little more greedy.

I once ninjaed a healing-only item (omg, oldschool?) on accident. Of course, I think I still could shard at that point, so I sharded and gave him the leftovers.
