To be honest, shockadins are utter garbage since 2.3. In full holy gear, you get nearly as much spell damage as Lamellar with tons more healing. Go healadin if you want any prayer of being viable.

I'd perosnally go with something like this:
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sVAbg0zhVzhhZZEc0x0czAc
I was attempting to work up the total bonus you'd get from this, but my browser decided to lock up on me. I do know that if I'm reading it right, this gives you ~17% increase to your Holy Shock damage, with an increase of ~19% crit chance to Holy Shock from talents alone - that doesn't include any gear or stats.

Turdle, add in SoR... (1 controlled and 2 uncontrolled abilities, that you be divine favor + holy shock for crit + JoR and SoR which are not controlled)
add in Vegeance (for 31/0/30 spec) and Avenging wrath for 60% damage increase + BG buffs at times
Shockadin is a rather successful build for its
purpose
what most people don't seem to grasp is that shock is not a DPS spec, it's a spec where you heal, but you have self defense and healing capabilities
it allows you to roam free in BG's and also allows you to do dailies and world PvP when needed
it does what it's supposed to

For example turdle, paladins will have a one minute repentance. Sounds like cc to me.
Didn't I read that Repentance in PvP is a 10-second duration?
That all being said, I will be trying out to the spec I posted when WotLK comes out. 40 yard range, 1402 base damage (~2100 crit), a high crit chance from talents alone (19% - plus Int and gear bonuses, I'd bet you could probably push a 30% crit chance ), and a 60% mana return on crit (dropping the cost to ~460 mana per shock) smells pretty good to me.

Edit: In WotLK repentence will be 1min duration for CC purposes for xaratherus.
For PvP too? Cool, I'm good with that.
In regards to the Shockadin thing... there might not be any new spells - but there are some new talents that will enhance it come WotLK.
Will it be a viable raiding spec? No, it'll still be far too mana inefficient.
But with the capacity to get an additional ~250-300 spell damage with BoM and Sheath, a 12% increase in the "effectiveness of Holy Shock" (which I read to mean "damage and healing", since it can do both), a base 19% crit chance on the spell when talented correctly, numerous talent changes that up the crit chance and damage of all spells, and a bump in both the range and the damage output of the Shockadin's namesake spell, I think that it could be worked into a viable arena spec. That's speculation at this point, as the talents are still in flux and I haven't gotten a beta invite (sad kitty face ^oxo^) to try it out.

WOW.. someone actually understands ....
Shouldda guessed it'd be you blade...
My ire towards shockadins is that they all feel that they are dps.... when they are healbots that cant heal as effectively,... or take as many hits... but they CAN dish out a bit more burst.(handy for pvp.. useless in PvE.)..unless of course you are the focus fire ... then a healbot would be better....

I was arguing with zacozoan who made a wild exclamation that 6k burst is possible. I would agree that it is a viable grind spec that allows you to world PvP and do BGs as well, but it doesn't fit into the competitive level is what I'm saying. You can't do Arenas in it and expect high ratings nor can you do raids in that spec, even in LK, there is no new spells that they will use to their advantage to do extra damage, so it is literally to expect the same dps again. Also, on
another thread
I did all the math to show how much dps is possible with rigged stats, wihch was not even a comparison to anything.
If blizzard was to make a shockadin a viable raid/arena spec, then a Holy Dps Priest will be viable too and everyone knows what happens with them.
Edit: In WotLK repentence will be 1min duration for CC purposes for xaratherus.
Im sorry... but in PVP shockadin is a great spec.
Arenas are all about focus firing and outlasting.. ie mana....
Shockadins allow you to have that little bit extra burst to perhaps get that focused target down...thus winning the match. .. (you could get that fron ret.. but then again.. the ret isnt there to heal is he?)
Shockadin is a viable spec in arena.....
