i think i would just go with playing 1500 and getting there, cuz your way would take forever i would say, since first you would need to lose ALOT of matches in order to go down to 1100. THEN you would need to go up again to 1700.....to me thats even more work than just raising your teams rating from 1500 to 1700.

There's also the small matter of your plan being considered an exploitation of the arena system that is actionable.

That's a good point... is it realy an exploit? What I mean by that is, instead of intentionaly loosing a new team, what if I bought/joined a team from someone... only I bought/joined the team at a 1200 rating.
Then the scenerio is exactly the same, except I didn't intentionally loose any games. Just a fresh player at 1200 team -1500 personal.
Results are the same... Large gains on team rating, smaller on personal eventually I get the team rating back up to 1500, while the personal has increased to 1700. To me, this is clearly not an exploit as Blizzard specificaly impletmented this system to function this way in personal vs team ratings
The only thing I'm unclear about is how low rated of a team I would need to join for the personal to go to 1700.. or 1800.
Still you must have alot of free time >_> cuz you would still need raise the 1200 team to like 1700 thats 500 points....lol
