and repair costs mean nothing, throw a couple dailies at it and ur good
and i hate raiding cuz u can only do it like once a week and each time u do it it takes like an hour to set up group, 2-5 hours to actualy do it and an hour mixed in their for deciding who gets wat gear and waiting for wipes to end
and again i was having fun raiding with 1 hand its funny (they wouldnt let me trap cuz we had so many cc that time)

The only thing I take offence to as far as the term "welfare" epics is that it implies you sat on your arse and had them handed to you. Ummm, excuse me, but I worked my tail off while leveling to get those "welfare" epics! I had the complete set before I hit 70, that way I was ready for an arena team. I suppose though that both sides have a point, you could just run around mindlessly in a BG and still earn some honor and at least 1 mark. You could also be led by the hand through Kara and Heroics to get gear too. It takes skill to be succesfull in PvP. You have to know how to play your class, not just mash buttons and hope for the best. It also takes skill to be a succesfull raider, again you can't just mash buttons. This term is about as idiotic as the term "noob". My reasoning for that is that we ALL started out in this game as fresh meat and we ALL got excited when we EARNED our first epic, be it from PvP or PvE. That being said how about you quit crying about how someone got gear and either beat the snot outta them in a duel proving your SKILL IN PvP... Or raid your butt off for t5-t6 gear and prove your SKILL IN PvE. Either way it comes down to skill and time spent, end of story.

They're called welfare epics, because of "elitists" branding people who don't raid or do heroics as worthless human scum.
That is all.
I fixed that for you Akakios.
If you ever said that the things my wife and daughter are wearing are *!@#ty welfare epics or whatever I'd beat every single teeth out of your face. Now get lost idiot.

Perhaps someday, maybe, people will figure out that pve and pvp starter gear are the same.
both require effort to do right or can be 'shortcut'
You take far less durability loss in pvp, but get no money from pvp.
You take durability loss in pve, but get cash, grey items, and ah'able green items from pve
Both are about the same difficulty level to actually do.
PvE is scripted encounters, but you are with a group of living breathing humans that may or may not screw up and rely on technology (internet connections and latency) that may or may not act according to script, skill is a combo of knowing your toons abilities, what the strat is, and adapting to the situation.
PvP while you are playing another person they are limited by what their character is capable of doing, and is subject to the same human/tech fallacies of pve, if you know the class you are against you SHOULD know with almost certainty what they will do if they know their class too..if they dont its no challenge anyway..skill is a combo of knowing your toons abilities, what the strat is, and adapting to the situation--see any similarities?
Honestly, the whole hoopla about pvp gear vs. pve gear, and the people wearing them, is absolutely ridiculous imo.
A person wearing PVE gear, may NOT be more skilled, knowledgeable, or more willing to work as a team than the guy in pvp gear
I've met several people in some really nice pve gear..which they got from pugs they made miserable and who never changed their ways, met plenty others with almost full pvp gear who were really good at PvE, knew their gear had its shortcomings in some pve situations, but more than made up for it.
and on the '100% drop rate arguement' While its true, you know once you have X honor and Y marks you will get your item. It also takes a big amount of time to come even close to those amounts, in pve you MAY get your items much much much faster and that just isnt possible in pvp, PvP gear is limited by time, by bg queues, by win/losses--PvE gear is limited by your ability to find a group, time, wipes/successes--again, interesting similarities. So while yes, you might have to run that dungeon several times, you might not, but at least that option is there for you. Also I dont think theres been a single piece of PvE starter gear I set out to get that made me run any dungeon as many times as I had to run EotS for a piece of gear.
For the TL,DR crowd:
Sitting on your rear, pressing buttons to get gear vs. sitting on your rear, pressing buttons to get gear...where is the diff here?
Sidenote: people in any form of starter gear thinking they are '1337' are idiots regardless of if its t4 or honor gear.

To me, welfare means easy epics. Why do I say easy epics? Because I once saw a level 68 paladin on my horde server gain 20k honor a day by farming AV. I assumed she used a bot, because not only did she appear AFK in front of the battle master, but I often saw her in war-room at night and in nagrand during the day -- leveling up.
The next few days I see she's leveled up to 69, she's still got an average of 19-20k honor points a day. Great, either she's awesome at avoiding danger in AV or she's botting. Anyway that's not the point.
When she dinged 70 (and I don't know exactly when...) I managed to see her, about a few weeks later with full s1 (pre S4) healing pvp gear. Everything from necklace to non-set epic boots, bracers, trinkets etc.
Just a few weeks ago she was straddling around in her questing gear. Now she's full epic. Moral of the story? You tell me, but I wasn't feeling very proud of my 2-3 epics I had
earned
from Karazhan.
I agree that there is WAAAAY too much honor farming going on with people using bots, whatever, to just get into the bgs and then not participate. A mechanic needs to be introduced that can help solve this issue (I have suggested BOUNTY's on players that are AFK in BG's, allowing their faction to ATTACK them for additional honor, removing the offender from the BG with the same penalities as deserting one). I have earned every one of my epics...PERIOD. Either through crafting or BG's. I have fought quite a few epic battles in AV where BOTH sides end up below 50 reinforcements...I have had as many as 167 kills in one battle. Standing at the bridge, trying to stem the tide of horde crossing in to Dun Baldar to me IS epic.
Don't get me wrong, i also enjoy dungeon runs and raids as well...at times. But so many are so pushy about doing things just so that it gets fairly annoying. Fairly fast.
Again, I have no problem with Epics if they are truly earned. A quick Armory scan of someone in full epics with no kills is very telling.

Do high-end (BT, MH, SWP) pve welfare epic exist? NO
On my server they do(bt/mh not swp). A certain swp guild alliance will get you any drop <swp for a price.
