it's cause the seasoned people have tanks with 15k+ hp, but don't let that discourage you
i think you have enough hp and avoidance for easy-mid difficulty heroics, you just have to find the right group.
try going into a reputable social large guild and run guild runs, it should help a lot

I started tanking heroics with less health than that, but I have the benefit of a group of guildmates and friends, with several excellent healers to choose from. As your health goes up, the need for off-heals and CC goes down; at 13k unbuffed, the same pulls that used to require 2 CCs can now be done with none.
For starters, stop using low quality crap to gem your equipment. Just replacing all your blue +9 stamina gems with +12s will bump your health by 278. There's no reason not to spend a little extra for good gems, since most of your gem-able gear isn't going to be upgraded any time soon.

People even complained about my health in normals when I had 10,000 health. I mean, come on! I've ran SL as prot healer with like 500 +healing with a warrior that had like 8.5k! How hard can it be!

I had a similar problem to you mate, was quite happily uncrittable but health was a little on the low side for MOST people to be happy with. Just a couple of points that i found helped me out & feel free to discard :P
Even though you are a pally tank, don't feel bad about making use of available crowd control, at least for the first couple of pulls to see how much damage you take & the healer can cope with. Also and i hate to discount my fellow pally brethren but unless you know they are VERY well skilled/geared don't take a pally healer. A healer with hots & reactives will have a much easier time keeping you & the group up.
Dont forget you only need 485 defence for uncritability in Heroics due to bosses only being 72 so that can free up a few points for you...
Last thing... A couple of very easily obtainable items i couldnt live without at the time :D

And it is thanks to junk like this that I have almost completely quit playing my pally healer :/
I'm not even going to go into the benefits a tankadin gets by running with a fellow pally healer, but ANY healing class that is properly geared/skilled/specced for the heroic can keep him up if he's uncrittable with 10k hp unbuff in the easier-mid range heroics.

In response to vaul,
I would be forced to agree. Paladin healers are unfortunatley one of the WORST healers for instancing. IMHO only eclipsed by the suck that is the shaman chain heal + earth shield which will never keep you up through tough hitting mobs.
A decently geared priest will have an infinitely easier time healing and his fort is roughly equal to the kings buff your second pally would be able to give out.
Priests were made to heal 5 mans, pallies were made to heal tanks and very little else. Also our only real response to pulling agro is to bubble while a priest has fade which (i could be wrong) has a shorter cd if im not mistaken putting his or her threat below the tanks instead of just preventing him from getting any more additional agro for that short period of time.
What a load of cr**
A priest's fade is a useless spell. It temporarily lowers the priests threat by only a bit 1K ... 2K ,maybe... that threat is returned to you at the end of the 10 sec.
Pallies made to heal tanks and little else???
Im sorry mrmunkles, I had you pegged as smarter than that.....
our bubble completely removes aggro for the duration... infinitely better than a priests fade. Usually when you pull aggro it is by more than that little bit that fade reduces.
Please dont post cr** like that. It doesn't add to anything.

Hrmm lets see, a down ranked level 1 greater heal from a well geared priest will land for 3-4k. A well geared pally fol max rank will land for ~2-3k with blessing of light.
With a priest, youll gain and additional 800hp, and either more spell dmg through imp spirit or circle of healing.
Prayer of mending.. .yet another spell which will hit multiple targets allowing the priest to resume healing the tank quickly.
Gosh you pallies seem to have taken soo many hits to your plate protected heads that you forget basic concepts.
Pally tanks, tank multiple mobs, pally healers heal one tank. When paladins have to start healing anyone EXCEPT the tank they will quickly fall prey to the global cool down. ESPECIALLY such and undergeared tank.
You know its not exactly easy for me to admit that my main, my healadin cant do things a priest can but it makes me a helluva lot smarter to realize my limitations. Im working on getting my haste set together so healing the harder heroics... isnt so hard but were not talking about a fully bt/sunwell geared with full haste set. Were talking about averages. Ooh and still fade should be ready for the next pull where as bubble wont be for the next two or three.
Lastly a good priest will also have up a renew to assist with their need to constantly heal a tank so even durring their "longer" casts the tank will still be recieving heals.
Its not to say paladins CANT heal 5 mans, just were not built for it... hell just one look at your blessings will tell you that. We are reliant on blessing of light which means if you plan to effectively heal every member of your party you must put salv, and light on them... which ironically is less effective than them having salv, and fort.
mana 330 " Discourages enemies from attacking you. More effective than Fade (Rank 6). threat reduction -1500. 30 second cd with talents. - thanks for the info but doesnt change that because of the shorter cd its worth a good deal more than bubble.
So your priest pulls aggro on every pull??? wonderous tank you have there.
As a healadin I was healing outland instances 3-5 lvls above me.... cause if you have any skill whatsoever, pally healers rock.
This sh** you keep spewing only reflects on your healing ability as a pally.... maybe you should go tank?
