This is how it goes from my experience and from running a raiding guild
from about attumen to about curator 1100healin/ 80mana per 5 with 7-9k mana works well with 3 healers
from curator u'll need about 1400/1500 healin depending on your class and at least 90 mana per 5 with about 8k mana if not more
remember to not forget things that work diffrently for your class like paladins need their crit instead of so much mana regen and mana and that droods have less use for strait mana per 5 if your using tree form and innervate on your and priests/shamans are diffrent from droods and paladins in the way they heal so remember to have ur healing without sacrificing mana regen mana and crit
hope this helped!
remember u can have alot of good gear crafted stuff like that

Well, I'm hoping to start Kara soon as a healadin, but I only have about 800 +healing.
On the other side, my spellcrit is about 15% for non-HLs, and I have 155 MP/5. Will those other two stats pick up the slack, or is just -being- a Paladin mana-efficient enough?
I run a weekly Kara Clearing group and while 800 healing isn't ideal your other listed stats are decent, if you have a decent amount of HP and a good mana pool I'd say bring/ use potions, flasks/ elixirs/ oils to buff up your healing and you should be ok. This also depends on the rest of your raid groups stats and how far into Kara you plan on going.
We've cleared Kara with 1-2 undergeared characters but the other 8 were decent geared/ over geared and knew the fights. For the most part the first 3 bosses aren't difficult at all if you have a strat everyone knows and understands. If your guild is doing Kara weekly It's very common for Kara raiders who do it every week not to need anything off those first 3 bosses and those 3 will have some HUGE upgrades for beginning raiders. Especially the healing mace from Maiden (that alone with a +81 healing enchant will add over +200 healing over most blue healing weapons).
So the answer is: it depends. The better you equip yourself & the more consumables you bring the less of a drain you will be on the raid. The better geared the rest of the raid is will make your gear matter less. Also knowing the fights can be more beneficial than stats sometimes, read strats and ask questions before going in so you know what to expect. Your mana pool and +healing wont matter if your dead ;)

The best way to get geared for any 10man or 25 man is to farm mats for the craftable tailoring sets (primal mooncloth and whitemend) - Two of the three main healing priests in our guild are still wearing those sets even up to Fathom Lord in SSC and through VR in TK. They have had opportunities to bid on some of the t5 stuff and all of the t4 stuff and have chosen not to break up the awesome set bonuses.
Mind you for the fights they require more +stam they will often switch out for lower +healing and regen to ensure they are above the recommended hp level.
good luck, happy healing

I don't have any heroic keys, and the only epic I have other than the Primal Mooncloth set is the healing gloves Attumen drops. I have 1418 +heal (self buffed) and 147MP5 so it's possible to get pretty well geared without too much effort.
Primal Mooncloth Set - not too much effort?! - What world do you live in???
I started raiding kara as holy priest with about +850 healing & 80mp5, our guild had 2 holy paladins with abotu +1200 healing. With the paladins spam healing flash heals without it hardly touching their mana all I needed to do was to top up tanks if needed and heal the raid, most of the time I was outside of the 5sec rule so was regenerating mana quickly..
I guess the answer to your question depends on the group you go with, if you have 2 Holy Paladins you can easily heal when needed to do so, plus having a shadow priest in your group will obviously give you mana regen...
However, when we reached Curator for the first time, thats when the cracks began to show for +800 healing.. Still you have a chance at getting some nice purples along the way!
Minimum: +1200 healing, 100mp5wc, 9k mana, 15% crit chance. For a full successful run of kara (skill required obviously).

From what I have done of Kara (to moroes) My 1,110 +healing has been more than enough. I can pick up some of the slack of having a horrible pug healer that we always bring for some reason..no matter how many times I tell my guild leader to find another.
