We're not making a new database from scratch. Things like drop information are all preserved from the regular Wowhead db. All we need is for people to upload information which links the item IDs with a Russian translation, which is a much faster process.

Народ, вы действительно не тупите, тут кириллица смотрится как арабская вязь для иностранцев, а это страшно и попахивает терроризЬмом, ибо они не понимают смысла этой абракадабры!
That was a message to people who post in cyrillic.
I've downloaded wowhead client and upload data. And I have a question if it is a good way to upload more data by getting cache info from server by queyring server about intems from AtlasLoot Enchanced? If I check all items in Atlas it will be the biggest part of all items in game. Am I right or wrong?

Ah, good idea to keep us informed! Maybe it's possible to create some pinned thread about Russian WoWhead or create something like live monitoring about all this?

WoW-armory opened in russian, you can just parse the site and update your wowhead client.

Site itself already translated (skins, forums etc.). There will not be russian forums at the launch of russian version of Wowhead. So, you'll get a russian DB with Wowhead skin + ability to post comments at russian. Forums will be english still (atleast for current time).

now it is been long time peaople uploading data to wowhead on russian language?
is it still not possible to open russian version of wowhead?
what is the main problems?
Wowhead client have start to gather dataz from Russian version of WoW at 7th of august.
how WE can help wowhead to be translated?
Simply, bring MOAR DATAZ to Wowhead. Especialy you are helping Wowhead.com database to grow up doing uncommon and rare quests (like not popular for today quests in Scholomance, LBRS, BRD etc.). In General - just keep playing and Wowhead client will do all job. Just don't forget to upload dataz.

Wowhead.com admins can't give you any date. They did best as they can however I'm nearly 100% sure they are not able to download Russian language pack and play at our servers gathering dataz for Wowhead Database.
So, everything in our hands. Keep uploading dataz.

The thing is that basicly current russian localization status is beta and it will probbly be changes one or multiple times. So it is not nessesary or wise to use current russian clients upload data as the basis for WH russian version. Moreover, as it was said multiple times in this thread, site administration should think about creating russian moderators team as the site will prolly be flooded with cyrillic posts you won't be able to understand.

1) From a very trust-worthy person (i.e. me)
2) Wowhead.com just can't launch forums and let it be. Site will need a strong Russian community for it and various other facts. And mainly, there will be a lack of russian moderators who able to spend loads of time to keep forums clean and informative. Currently, there are ~20 moderators at English forums.

Since Blizzard proclaimed Russian beta as relese (without any patches lol) everything we got in-game is a Release version. BLizzard promises to fix all beta problems with nearest WoW patch but I don't think they will change more that 10% of item names, NPC's translations and stuff. And Wowhead will track these changes as it always do. There is no point to fear.
I think, admins of Wowhead.com are planning to laucnhg Russian version of their amazing DB with support for russian comments and descriptions to screenshots. Forums are not planed to release. So, forums will stay Internationl (i.e. English).
