QUESTION::::::what kind of armor like def or what would be good for a blood dk.
I assume you are tanking. Cap your defense first, 535 for heroics or 540 for raids. Resilience works too, as long as you bring the chance to get critted down to 0%. The armor and such will naturally come along with defense.
You want at least 23k health unbuffed (in frost presence) for heroics.
And by bringing chance to be crit down to 0, he means, lower crit % by 5.6% if you add up defense and resilience's crit lowering %.

Ok this may be a stupid question, but so far I have not managed to find anyone that seems to know what the Death Runes are used for or why they occur. Could someone please be kind enough as to explain this to me?
Death runes are created by certain talents. Examples:
Death Rune Mastery: When you use obliterate or death strike, the frost and unholy runes consumed by the abilities become death runes when they refresh.
Blood of the North: When you use pestilence or blood strike, the blood runes consumed by the abilities become death runes when they refresh.
Reaping: when you use blood strike or blood boil, the blood runes consumed by the abilities become death runes when they refresh.
Now, death runes are represented on your rune bar by purple skulls. The simplest way to explain what a death rune 'is' is that they're wild cards - death runes count as frost, unholy, and blood runes all at the same time.
Say both of your frost runes and both of your unholy runes are on cooldown, but your blood runes have been converted to death runes. If you need to use an ability like obliterate that requires 1 frost and 1 unholy, the two death runes will be used for the ability because they count as any rune type.

I wondered if DKs benefit from spell penetration, there's nothing written about it on first page so...
I was getting some new gems for my DK today and when i was about to buy a blue gem i saw one with spell penetration/cryt so i wondered if its ok to use spell pene instead of stamina on a pve blood spec DK.
Thanks in advance for answer

problem is that most spell penetration is found on entirely caster-oriented items and gear, those other stats do not benefit us at all.

So that's the part i couldn't decide about.
Should i take spell penetration instead of stamina when i am choosing my blue gems? Is it worth it as a PVE dps(blood) death knight?

"Death Knights are also able to speak with weapon masters in order to learn how to use 1-handed Maces and 2-handed Maces, though both of these weapon skills start at 1 once trained."
I created a DK last week and I already had 1 in Maces and 1 in 2-handed Maces, they probably changed this very recently.

I have an 80 DK and im trying to get some new gems for his gear. What should i worry about more? AP? STR? STAM? AGI? I'm a DPS DK so Any helpful pointers would be thankful. Thanks
If you dual wield, hit rating above all else, strength/crit afterwards.. If you're using a 2hander, aim for strength/AP/Crit.
