I have 9x non-twink chars (all above 59/60, 3x 70's) and 9 twink chars, and would like to state the un-biased similarities and differences between these two game styles:
1. Gears:
you go for the best gears obtainable (min-maxing), this is the same for twinks and non-twinks. Difference is that at 70, upgrading gears is more straightforward with the Season (or Tier) system; while for twinks, one needs to do independant research to figure out the best gear for each slot (sometimes quest greens are far better than obtainable blues, Master Hunter's Bow/Rifle, anyone?) Another key difference is that 70 gears will eventually be replaced (expansions, patches, etc.) so in a way twink gears are more permanent.
2. Skills:
at higher levels, there are a lot more abilities / talents available for each class, naturally, there are a lot more combinations/strategies out there to enhance one's skill. More buttons to press too, which also require more attentions. On the other hand, twinks often also have a large number of key class-defining spells (19 locks have fears, CoA, corruption, drain life, life tap, shadow bolt, etc..), so the game play does also requires a lot of skills too. (and in a way, having limited abilities also means that the player needs to be more versatile and creative on how to use them well).
3. Ganking and OP:
ganking happens in both twink BG's and at 70. A lvl19 twink camping a lvl10 player in WSG is not more unfair than a lvl70 camping a lvl35 player in STV. This happens everywhere in game, and is not unique to twinking. As someone already stated, this behavior is attributable to the player behind the ganker, not to the aspect of twinking. At the same time, a S4 70 fighting a player who recently ding'd 70 in quest greens is in a way "twinking".
4. Gnome:
19 Gnome rogues are annoying, but 70 Gnome rogues are too!
I can go on, but hopefully one can see that twinking is not necessarily much different from the gameplay at higher levels. It is just another part of the game. One pays for the game and should have the freedom to choose how s/he enjoys it, be it twinking or boomkin tanking...

I never had an issue with twinks or twink groups til the other day. My son has been watching me play WOW for a few months and really wanted to play. I told him the only way he could play was supervised and he had to read every quest out loud. Since he's 8 it helped with his reading and comprehension. We've got 2 computers so I would get on and help him quest and give him useful items. He loved watching me play battle grounds and he couldn't wait to get to level 16 (the lvl I told him he had to get to to try it). The day he hit lvl 16 we left Ghostlands and went to get his training and que him up for his first WSG.
He got threw into a really bad group that was getting their graveyard camped. The ally opposition wasn't even capping flags anymore since they were up 2 and the fc was joining in on the camping trip. He proceeded to die along with the rest of his group for 15 straight minutes.
I still don't have a prob with twinks but I will never roll ally because of that bs. What are they proving...that they can beat underage, undergeared, newbies? I don't see the point on a PVE server. If you want to farm HK then join a PVP server and have at it in the whole world not in WSG. Twinks should get their 3 flags (the whole point of WSG) and move on to the next bg.
Sorry really venting. On a more positive note when he did his next WSG he held his own which isn't bad for an 8 yr old playing in twink bracket 19.
Horde do this constantly, so don't say it's just alliance. In fact this is the reason I made my priest twink. I'm sorry your son had a bad first experiance in a BG but to say that this behavior is only done by one faction is very narrow minded thinking.
To answer everyone who has asked what a 19 can do to a 70... What can anyone under 66 or so do to a 70?
Please stop QQing about twinks... Like or not they are part of the game. If you don't want to face them then don't Q up in the lower brackets. Most people who whine about twinks either..
A) Got it handed to them by a rude twink who /spit /lol at them.
B) Never made a twink or don't understand how fun they can be.
To either of these I say roll a twink. No need to go crazy on cash. Do a little research and get a friend to help. Won't cost more then about 500g. Play the twink for a few weeks. Then, and
ONLY
then will you have the right to bitch about them.
