Hello
I've been a member of these forums for quite some time now. Looking at it it seems like several hundreds of the appropriately named "Is my gear good enough for thisandthat"-threads, and for some reason especially in the druids forum. Why don't we just bring an end to all this and make
http://be.imba.hu
known to everyone?
http://be.imba.hu
is a gear evaluation site powered by Wowhead. It will tell you where your gear fits in raid prgression. It also tells you where you can get most of your upgrades. Furthermore it advices you on mistakes you might have made in enchanting, speccing and/or itemization. But keep in mind that these are advices only. Don't let it govern your playstyle.
However it is important to state that it shows you where you are
gear-wise
. Just because your gear is up for BT doesn't mean that you as a player necessarily is up for it. It has helped my and my guild a lot during our time in TBC content.
Just remember to
Be Imba!

I wish there was a way to just etch a link to be.imba along with a generic description of where to look outside of that to figure out the answer to this question into the tops of every class forum. I also wish people would learn to search, read and learn on their own :\.

Indeed! People shouldn't have to be fed this information on a silver platter, but if it can improve my gaming experience I don't mind sharing.

I do use be.imba and have found it very usefull at times. However at other times it does seem to value item lvl very highly as sometimes if u have pvp gear on it can show ur progresion as higher than it rly is. This doesn't matter so much for some classes but for others it can change the aptitude of the given player. For instance a dps class may put out less dmg than should be expected say at the start of SSC bcoz he has pvp gear on which is more emphasis on stamina and resilience than pure damage stats.
I will admit tho it is preety easy to see if someone is in pvp gear on be.imba i just suggest u make sure u look at the whole page not just the progression bar thingys

Valid point. But as you said - Detecting a PvP geared person isn't too difficult.

The only problem with imba is that it does not always read gear correctly. For instance I logged in with my Fel leather gloves and it said that they are crap, I then logged in with my Wastewalker gloves (higher gear level) and it said that they were good. The change in these gloves actually moved me past the Kara point instead of behind it. Now if you look at any gear scale, the fel leather is better for dps than the Wastewalker. Imba looks more at gear level before it looks at actual stats.

Don't let it govern your playstyle.
Don't let a web site think for you. It is merely a pointer. And it
is
a very good one despite some flaws. And? Were you considered feral tank or feral dps in that report? Because it will differentiate between the two, depending on what kind of gear you are wearing.

No, I had my dps gear on at the time. It does have flaws but is is a very good resource too. I just don't want people to start judging people solely based on what imba says. There is enough of that already with Raid leaders not knowing other classes that well and desrimnating becuse of their lack of knowledge.

I agree with Anile.
The website is good for ballpark estimations, but it's far from accurate.
Checked myself out on it and it said I had unenchanted items... fact is, I had the +10 STA armor kits on them, but it wasn't reading it.
As was said above, don't let the site think for you.
