The winged shapes showed on the horizon. Soon enough the three gargoyles could be seen, as could the woman the first carried. Her fur coat rustling over oblivion for a few moments more, the gargoyles flapped, clearing the edge of the platform before pulling back, hovering in the air until they had deposited the necromancer on the cold stone. Her bare feet were quickly shrouded by her furs, Granda shrugged off the talons of the gargoyle.
"
Here he is. As you said,
" Vespa crooned, floating through the air and circling the darkfallen, her hair writhing about her face and her white lips turned up in a smile. "
So ready. So willing. So full of life!

"Oooh, we have a tag-along." Nustal grinned, displaying his fanged teeth as he raised a hand to the Banshee's. Even as his flesh failed to touch her's, he held the limb as if it gripped her own. "A threesome, is it?" He asked, winking to Granda.

"Vespa insisted on joining us," Granda said evenly.
"
Oh but if I could
," the banshee sighed breathily. "
Oh I would show you things had I a body that would make your toes curl
." She giggled, passing through the darkfallen, leaving a chill where she had touched.

"Ooo-hehehe." Nustal chuckled at the sensation. "Don't tease me like that." He smirked. "So. Mission from the big boss?"

"Yes," the necromancer said. "We must find one of his lairs. Within is something which will, hopefully, provide him with strength enough not only to escape the downed necropolis, but raise it into the air once more."
Vespa's ghostly hands trailed down Nustal's figure. "
Oh my. The things I could do with such a body
," she sighed.
"And we will accomplish it," Granda forcefully reiterated.

"
Oh, I thought that was me
," the banshee said, her elfin face peering over the darkfallen's shoulder. She blew a ghost of deathly cold air into his ear. "
It is, after all, the only effect my touch can wake upon the living
."
Granda glared at the pair in quiet annoyance.

"
Oh the things I would do to you.
"
"If you recall," Granda put in. She swept her hand towards the barren horizon, volumous sleeve sliding back along her pale arm. "The Scourge has need of us. We leave." She snapped her fingers causing the gargoyles to awkwardly hop towards them. "Now."
"
She's far colder than I
," Vespa whispered into his ear. "
I hear she sleeps in a tomb of icy water. No doubt for the warmth you excite in her. As you would me, had I but a body to to feel such things.

Nustal smirked. "As you wish." He bowed towards Granda. From his back, bones cracked as his wings spread anew.

Granda narrowed her eyes. She turned and spread her arms. At ocne one of the gargoyles laid hold of her and lifted her off the stone and into the sky. Her bare feet peeked from the hem of her long pale fur coat as she was borne over the edge of the platform, the frozen landscape below spreading out as the gargoyle carried her forward.

"H-hey! Wait!" Dominic ran several steps after the riders, waving his arms frantically as they filed through the gate. "I need you to sing off on that horse! They'll think I...that I..." He slowed, one arm still limply raised as the death knights rode through the north gate. "...Oh bugger."
Letting his arm drop Dominic went back to the stable. He stopped inside and tilted back his head to the hole in the roof and the cold blue sky beyond. Then he looked back down at the empty stables and where the saddle had once been. "Aw no," the yellow eyed, sallow faced young man groaned. "They're going to blame me for this. Then they'll send me to the front." His armour rattled from his trembling, the young soldier gulping. "Oh no."
He stared at the empty spots in the stable, then to one of the ones still holding a horse. He gulped thickly and pulled up his belt. "W-well. Guess that's that."
Ten minutes later he rattled out of the stable atop an embittered nag of a horse, for even then, he couldn't bring himself to think he deserved a better one. All knees and bone with skin stretched across it, it was the sort of horse good for only eating if anyone could bring themselves to try the leathery hide. The shaggy pony trotted towards the north gate, Dominic bouncing with a rattle of his ill fitting armour as he gave chase to the dark nights as best he could.

With a heavy flap of his wings, Nustal caught the wind, frost upon the stone floor flowing away as the Darkfallen rose; following his mistress quickly.

The frozen wastes sped beneath her feet. The white fields of ice patches broken by the odd brown of jutting rock, rising likea whale leaping through a foaming sea. Then over the steaming hotsprings, where steaming water sat in pools and oil blackened animals struggled, whimpering and striving to move beneath the blackened poison.
Soon enough however the ice made way for simpler stone. Grey rock rising in strange cliffs jutting from the landscape. As they flew over ravines cut in the cliffs, Granda narrowed her eyes at the shapes of squat tuskarrs moving about, ranging about quarries where walrus faced carvings had been hewn from the stone, many of the massive obelisks loaded on sledges.
"Troubling," she mused to herself.

"Near the Amber Ledge," the necromancer said, squinting against the cold rushing at her face. She blinked rapidly to clear the frost forming on her lashes. "We are looking for tiered stones which, when pressed in a certain pattern, shall open the way to his lair."
"Like those ones?"
Granda's eyes flashed down. She made a quick sign with her hand and the gargoyle which bore her stalled, beating at the air as it hovered. Its two compatriots circled about them like vultures as Granda looked down.
Below lay another ravine cut through the stone. The rocks here had a strange form, being of colonnaded rock rising about in exact hexagonal geometric patterns. They climbed, one after the next, like a series of steps from the floor of the ravine and to the cliffs above forming a ledge which masked the cleft below in shadow.
But among the darkness she could see a deeper one. A cave, hidden among the steps, several seeming to have sunken into the ground to reveal the wide portal. Rubble lay about it, the ruins of a tuskarr idol half carved shattered from some great explosion. Nearby lay the picked bones of its carver, bleached white and limed with frost.
Granda's face hardened. She shrugged her shoulders and her face sank into the mane of her furred mantle. "Down," she commanded. With a shriek the gargoyle began its descent.

Nustal watched, lowing himself towards the ravine. Arcane magics seemed to bleed from the opening, drifting into the air.
"Something tells me it's not supposed to look like that..." The Darkfallen commented, landing upon the stone steps.
