Hey there, I'd like to tell you how I started off my warrior-career, as a tank ofcourse!
First, I read up on Yakras guide on Pre-Kara gear, then, in practics, I began doing all the quests that I could do to achieve
Pre-Kara gear.
For example, I did Shadow Labyrinth, to get the tanking trinket, and then I did the quest chain for the
other tankingtrinket,
Dabiri's Enigma. This sums up to a great amount of defense-rating to start off your tanking-career.
After having some pretty good tanking-gear from doing quests, I actually went SP Heroic and tanked there just fine, it's not an easy instance gear-wise, but if your group respects that you cannot tank two defenders without leaving the party, everything should be fine.
Continue to do SP heroic until you have around 40 badges, this is 40/3 = 13,33 runs, you can also run other coilfang instances, because they are really easy with good CC.
While you start doing SP heroic-runs, also continue doing random 70 instances to boost up your gear, I also suggest getting
Felsteel, thats what I had when I first came to level 70, and now, with my 15k unbuffed hp, I still wear Felsteel helmet and leggings!
I suggest this talent-spec:http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Grim+Batol&n=MoogasmIt's almost equal to Kungens spec, and we all know, learning from the best, is the way to go!
As you get improved, you should buy those items for the badges you get:
- Iron-tusk Girdle *60 badges* (T5 quality, good to start with in heroic instances.)
- Chestplate of Stoicism *100 badges* (T6 quality, I got this sometime after I started doing Karazhan)
- Unwavering Legguards *75 badges* (T5? quality, which I'm aiming at right now, to replace my Felsteel-leggings)
..and you should always put 12-stamina gems (
Solid Star of Elune) or 8 defense-rating gems (
Thick Dawnstone) in your sockets, even if it doesn't make up for the socketbonus, which is sometimes ridiculously bad anyways.
After getting
Iron-tusk Girdle, I actually started off with Magisters' Terrace heroic mode, this was a cake for me, I'll be honest though, people actually complained at me, even though I did a great job, so if you want to get better gear, go for it, but if you don't mind being the overhand showing what you are made of, go for the higher goals.
Then, as I started with Magisters' Terrace heroic mode, after several days, I was exalted (I also did the daily quests everyday) and I could buy the nice 48 stamina trinket (
Shattered Sun Pendant of Resolve) the shield (
Dawnforged Defender) and in the progress of getting exalted, I had looted all items that could benefit a warrior from Magister's Terrace heroic mode.
Shoulderplates of Everlasting Pain (This is pretty funny how I still use it, but it's good for threat, and it's good hp, so I use it! Gems used: Thick Dawnstone + Solid Star of Elune)- Quickening Blade of the Prince (Awesome staminaboost!)
- Shard of Contempt (Great for end-tanking, this was equipped recently because I finally could remove my Dabiri's Enigma which I needed for the defense-cap.)
- Commendation of Kael'thas (Also awesome staminaboost, I tried to get this to replace my defensetrinket from Shadow Labyrinth asap, because 600 health is alot to add to your "LFG 14,6k hp unbuffed tank instead of LFG 14k hp unbuffed tank".)
..among with some other items.
I'll also throw in my bar-setup:Remember, in order to get aggro, all you need to do is spam GCD, SLAM and AGGRO, just hold three fingers on the buttons 2, 3, 4 and keep pressing, no need for any certain rotation. Tank it with

Just read this over...
I have a few things to add...
Along with the badge gear, you might want to mention other badge gear that a tank really should have in their inventory, as well as some other instances that you can run for gear and badges:
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29387This is probably a tank's biggest upgrade as far as trinkets go.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33593This cloak wont be replaced for a while, and putting

http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27961 or
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=34004 depending on your needs.
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29362This weapon is awesome for tanking, and farming it can bring a good amount of badges as well. It arguably the best tanking weapon for Kara and/or up until SSC. Lots of enchants can be used with this but most tend to go with

Just my two cents on what other items may be of interest to tanks : )

Iron-tusk Girdle should not be an objective for players anymore. There's nothing wrong with it, but
Girdle of the Fearless is vastly superior.
Same thing with Unwavering Legguards, forget them & go straight to
Sunguard Legplates. One would have to be crazy to grind that many Badges of Justice through Heroics
twice.
It was a good story & we're glad you have learned so much from all of this! The thing is, you state it as a guide for people to follow instead of "your story." It just isn't consistent. You said for no one to comment, from what I understood, but that isn't gonna happen when you post something for everyone to see. Let's be realistic here.
