Half the fun of WoW head is the ability to quote a quote, which someone quoted a quoters quote. Having said that I shall quote you, and I hope you learn something from this...

Here is my take:
When I was Enhancement, my DPS would jump around a lot. Getting triple Windfury crits, followed by an Earth Shock crit really boosts your DPS. But then you have a huge span of time where you're unlucky, and have absolutely 0 crits, and your DPS drops like a rock.
When I went Elemental, I noticed that, while my crits were decent, overall my DPS was lower.
But
my DPS was more consistent.
Enhancement, I could go from 1600 DPS to 600 DPS in less than a minute, with no real average. Elemental let me stay at around 900 DPS consistently.
