31g at 24 is great, you're doing just fine.
You know, I'm curious why you would give a 70 20g for repairs considering that the same 70 should be able to farm 5 times that in less than an hour of dailies...
Making money at this level? Clearly you're already doing fine for yourself, so keep that up. Otherwise, just sell enchanting materials.
I have to agree with the 70 comment.
My lock personally has over 100g at 29 but I've been playing for a while, and I can AH like no other.
You are just where you should be in terms of gold.

I at my current count i have 31g after giveing my lvl 70 friend 20g fore his repare bill.
)
Are you serious? Your lvl70 friend can make 20g by doing 2 daily quests, or just farming a few mobs in Netherstorm or SMV. Even if he just dropped 5200g on an epic mount, having to borrow 20 for a repair bill seems ridiculous.
