What's the best way to make gold?

deathwing throws me off his wings.
The trick to this one is to move between the two sides of his back every time he starts to roll. Make sure you have DBM Cata installed, and every time you get the roll warning, you have about ten seconds to move over to the other side (this will happen constantly, so be ready to move a lot), which will cause him to start rolling the other way. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy - I wiped a bunch the first time, but after my first successful run I've never fallen off again.
As for Alizabel...I didn't have any trouble with her, maybe you need better gear/DPS.

Seems like savage truesteel essences sells for almost 20,000 gold, and mighty truesteel essences selss for 8,000 gold. As for crafted gear, the prices seems to variate on the auction house.
As for raids, I only need to beat deathwing and alizabal to complete all the cataclysm raids. I wipe on both bosses, alizabal one shots me with seething hate and deathwing throws me off his wings.
Selling on the AH requires you to do research. Find out what sells where you play, and be prepared to tend those auctions regularly because most people who play the AH for profit babysit their auctions to undercut competitors. Otherwise, you will have a lot of reposting to do and waiting to sell your wares, which means fewer sales and longer waits to actually see profit.
As for doing the older raids, if you are having a problem Youtube will be your friend. I'm pretty sure there are some helpful videos that show people soloing these raids and explaining tactics. You should take a little time and view some where you are finding problems. It will save you both time and gold in repairs.
If you find you have plenty of time to play, but are running out of ideas to make quick gold.....and if you tire of simply farming mats in Tanaan or whatever, you should also consider doing most old raids even before Cata. Nax on 25 man was making me around 1200 or so gold for a full clear, killing all trash. I would look into ICC and Ulduar as well. I often do BT and Sunwell for mounts and pets and such, but they still net me a little gold as well. It's not as profitable as Cata raids, but it's still decent gold IMO.

I'm at 10,000 gold after clearing some of the raids after they became available again this week. It's probably going to be impossible to obtain a bunch of tokens so I'm going to see if i can get just one.Only thing I don't get is that when I had to subscripe, it gave me a choice to buy a token for about 37k gold, but when I'm browsing the auction house (after subscriping) it says a token costs about 60k gold.

... And long are you supposed to do this? I have tried to run left and right for almost 10 minutes while killing the mobs and nothing happened.
If I were going for gold, I'd choose: Must-haves (small buildings):
Gem Boutique (daily gold; requires a follower slot), Storehouse (for dumping stuff directly into the bank), and Salvage Yard (greens to vendor; blues/purples to auction or vendor; lots of mats; some upgrade tokens for your followers)
I honestly don't see how I could make room for a gem boutique, as the forge is a core building since my profession is blacksmithing. The salvage brings me free stuff that I can sell, and the storehouse opens up a total of 20 additional work ords. So if gem boutique is really this important, I would have to sacrifize the salvage yard or the storehouse.
Also, how viable is it to make gold with fishing? I have my fishing profession on maximum level, but I feel like it isn't really all that useful at this point.

It sounds like you don't know how the fight works. Read through the dungeon journal and comments for
Deathwing

Are you logging in and updating your work orders every day? If so, the extra queue size from the storehouse isn't actually giving you anything, so it's really just more of a convenience building.

I'm building a gem boutique and bought the level 2 plans so i can assign a follower with the jewelcrafting trait, so let's see how it works out.I also managed to solo deathwing spine. This is a horrible boss to fight, its painfully boring and the mehanics are stupid and doesn't feel like they belong in a game like world of warcraft. To make it worse, once I killed the boss, the second boss (deathwings madness) just disappeared while I was fighting him, and I was stuck on a platform and had to use my HS to get out... this is by far the most disappointing boss fights in this game. I feel sorry for the people who bought cataclysm and fought deathwing, they must have been so disappointed with that boss.

Soloing it is a lot different than doing it when it was current content, because a lot of the mechanics were designed with the assumption of multiple players. Madness despawns if you spend too much time on the wrong platform without engaging him, but if that happens you should be able to restart the fight by talking to Thrall again.
Personally, I like Dragon Soul a lot more than most of the other pre-MoP raids for soloing, because it isn't something you can just brute-force your way through.

I got my gem boutique. It gives a daily quest that you can easily complete for some gold, plus it allows me use my blackrock ores to create rings and trinkets. I had a whole bunch of blackrock ores that I didn't really use for anything, so this is a perfect building if you have a forge.

Good catch. I got rid of the storehouse, so my small buildings are the forge, the gem boutique and the salvage yard.

I managed to kill alizabal. I had to buy a potion with a 1,000 strength buff from the AH, a healing potion, as well as using my lay on hands. She hits for about 200,000 damage with seething hate which is ridicilious.
I completed dragon soul as well. What's the best dungeon for farming gold while I'm waiting for the raids to reset?

I'm not really sure farming gold doing dungeons is really your best bet, since they were a bit nerfed close to a year ago due to bots farming them non-stop. You could try, but I would keep tally of the actual gold. You may have better success making gold just by killing things in WoD or farming felblights in Tanaan.
If I were going to farm something like that, I would probably use a potion of luck for MoP raid trash, or potion of treasure finding and farming something like Grim Batol to increase my money. You will have to deal with lock boxes, and trying to sell mats on the AH, but the money will probably justify the use of time.
Might want to check some youtube channels to see how others are finding ways of generating gold, like oldbess. Beware of any videos claiming huge gold farming, as they are usually linked to selling transmog gear that IMO is rubbish.
Basically, the fastest and largest pure gold you can farm is going to be Cata raids, MoP raids if you can handle any of them, but that might be too hard depending. Beyond Cata, perhaps doing the WotLK raids, and then finally the BC raids that have plenty of trash and bosses.....but those aren't going to net you a great deal of gold in my experience. At least not gold/hr that you are likely wanting.

Savage truesteel essences sells for 22k gold on the AH. So if I could sell some of them it might give me enough gold for a token. Only problem is that the gnome who sells them never seems to show up in my garrison...

That was a useless video, the guy only talks about his addons without mentioning anything concrete.

I didn't link a video to you. I suggested searching youtube for videos on this topic. I suggested one example channel you may find helpful. It's up to you to look through his videos to see if anything interests you, or not.
As for the essence, you simply need to buy the plans from the trader on the day it's in garrisons. From the front page of wowhead, it appears to be today. If the trader is not in your garrison, you can use the group finder tool and look for someone who has it listed. Or, you could ask in general or trade, to see if anyone will invite you to their garrison to use the trader.
Understand, just because these items are listed on the AH does not mean they are actually selling.

It's worth a shot, since it sells for a lot of gold. I see you can only clear a heroic dungeon once per day, so I'm going to see if there are any normal dungeons worth clearing. I just tried Auchindoun and wiped at the first boss. I guess a MoP dungeon would probably be best.

Yeah, don't try soloing WoD dungeons for gold. It's possible with a sufficient gear/skill level, but even if you can do it, it takes way too long for the gold you get. Not worth it unless you're going for achievements/specific drops or just for the sake of a challenge.

Any ore --you trade for primal spirits when the ore trainer is in your garrison , use the primal spirits to buy savage blood , sell savage blood on AH . Same with herbs from your herb garden. Savage blood, on my realm, often sells for more or the same price as felblight.
Seeing you kept your forge then have a read of this
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20351245203
it will help you with what gear to make to sell
you also asked for other old raids beside cata ones in another post so i will repeat what I told you earlier - 25 man nax and 25 man heroic ICC plus any raids in the raiding with leashes achievements ( BT and Hyjal for example ) and sell any pets you get on the AH , may have to relist some but they will eventually sell.

I got my inn to level 2 and I got a follower with the treasure hunting trait. So far, it hasn't really payed off, since his level is too low to complete most of the missions that rewards gold. I was thinking about getting harrison jones and then have two followers with treasure hunting, and then level them up and put them on the
particularly lucrative treasure hunter missions
(?). Is it worth it? I really don't see all that many interesting medium buildings, the only other choice I could think of would be a lumbermill/tradepost to collect garrison resources from the lumbermill and trade them for items from the tradepost.

Treasure Hunter pays off in the long run. You need to get them to 100 and get their iLvL up, and then you'll be happy when those 50g missions become 150g, and you get a 1K Bligtron that becomes 4K etc.
For medium, Trading Post is a must for making Gold. You can refill it with Herbs that don't sell for much, and buy Draenic Dust when it's only 4 GRs each. Lumber Mill might be overkill for GRs though. You do have the War Mill for leveling up your Followers, right?

At this point, I think I am done giving advice to this poster. You all can continue, but it appears to me wow123456 simply will benefit the MOST from reading some basic guides on wowhead to understand how things work. He/she doesn't appear to have the grasp of understanding how all of this works, and some of the questions are becoming repeats IMO.
The last thing I will do is give wow123456 one last simple list of what I have found to be a good money making set up.
Level 3 garrison
Level 2 (or 3) Inn (recruit followers)
Level 3 barracks (25 followers instead of 20)
Level 3 bunker/war mill (follower upgrades, daily for upgrade, raid token)
Level 2 (3 when available) trading post (resource from mats, trade for gold, etc)
Level 2 JC hut (daily for gold)
Level 3 salvage yard (extra gold, item upgrades)
Level 2 or 3 profession hut of your choice
Level 3 garden and mine (for mats)
That set up, once you level up followers, will churn good gold. It will take time to complete, but in a month or two you will have followers with treasure finding up and going. You should be able to make an average of over 1k gold per day by simply doing the dailies and sending out missions.
Best of luck, but I am out of help on this topic.

I see. Only thing that bothers me is that I have to complete some dungeon quests to upgrade the inn to level 3. But I guess its worth it.

What do you mean with warmill, do you mean the dwarven bunker?

Ahh Alliance, sorry. I'm so used to playing Horde ATM.

you need at least 15 followers with treasure hunter trait and a mix of abilities , you need them at level 100 and ILVL 675 .
Harrison Jones is a must while levelling follows , but not for putting them on the treasure missions but the big XP , lvl 100 missions so they can level faster , you can get a follower from level 90 to 100 with two or three missions that way

I have the barracks and dwarwen bunker, since I couldn't really see much of a purpose for some of the other large buildings.

I previously rerolled the traits and abilities on fiona because I didn't realize at that time that the herbalism trait she had was going to be useful for the herb garden, so she got the treasurehunting ability instead. I went into my inn and hired a follower with herbalism so I can use fiona on missions with gold instead, since I thought it was a bit of a waste to have a purple follower to work in a building, and thought it would be better to use her for missions, unless I am missing something? It seems that the Inn is definitely a core building since you can continue to hire followers with the traits and abilities you want.
