Combat mutilate
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0efoEMoizVo0eV0bVCombat mutilate is very different to all the other PVE specs. Its rotations are more involving and varied, and the itemisation required to make it effective is quite different, being more crit dependent than anything. Some rogues prefer to raid as combat mutilate because they consider it to be the most fun build to play, or because they wish to PVP as mutilate without having to respec.

The entire section titled
PvE is referring to raiding:
This section will deal largely with preparation and play in a raid environment.
- Ruthlesness x Imp. Kidney Shot
You should not be using Kidney Shot, or any other stun in a raid aside from the very rare instance that something needs to be stunlocked.
- Imp Sprint + DWS x Opportunity + SoH
You didn't read far enough into my
precious Compendium then:
Improved sprint really helps on fights where you will be snared, such as Vashj, moreso than extra dodge or parry ever will (in reality you shouldn't ever be getting hit, and you shouldn't die from eating one cleave). Improved gouge improves solo-play, enough to warrant taking it over three points in lightning reflexes, which again, is next to useless in a raid anyway.
I don't mean to sound aggressive, but you haven't given us much to work with on your thoughts to give you any sort of in depth answer. Post an Armory, let us know where your progression is, what are you using for rotations? These things will help us help you.
