If you have the alts to support the mats, take Engineering / Jewelcrafting.

If not, pick one and replace the other with mining :)

I have engineering. The goggles sorta help but really...I've seen no benefit minus the goblin sapper charge with bubble on its like a canned nuke.

Go Mining/JC or something like that.
Engineering just drains your money.

Engineering gives you one of the best helms for each spec early into your leveling (can even be gotten at level 62 with the change to Primal Nethers), Frost Grenades (godlike for BGs/World PvP - /qq about being unusable in arena), some pretty nice trinkets (+45 stam one for tanking + interesting side effects) and easy money farming device (Zapthrottle Mote Extractor).

Personally, I wouldn't base my profession choices on a single BoP item which is clearly meant for warriors. Oh god, strength are just wasted points. And crit rating. And hit rating. And the socket bonus.

Start with mining/blacksmithing. Skill up your smithing and slap together one of the 2h weapons. with the ease of getting vortexes, it's simple. the stormherald is great, as is the lionheart.
Once you've gotten your sword, mine the materials you'll need for leveling engineering.
Drop mining, level engineering and craft up the goggles.
It leaves you with a good weapon, and a great helm. Chances are the mining you do during that time, between leftovers and primals, will make you a decent profit as well.
As it's your main, having 2 crafting professions isn't all too bad. Alts are a great way to have gathering professions, leaving your main to reap the benefits.
