It's not a question of good or bad luck. Well, not having to move certainly makes it easier, but moving is part of the encounter.
The thing is, as has already been said : the tank MUST BE directed as to where he should move, since he himself has a big boss blocking the view in front of him. Yelling at the tank for not moving is complete and utter stupidity. Especially if he discovers the fight.

Something very similar happened to me once, I was only offtanking kara back then and had not even cleared, I joined a pug that got @#$%ed at me for not knowing the encounter and "dying too fast" ( I warned them I wasn't geared). They all left and I was still %^&*ed, the mistake they made was this was Tuesday (reset day). I hit the friends list and put together a group and cleared the rest of the place with thier raid ID, next day the only thing I heard about it was one of the guys whining in trade about Kara being glitched and how he doesn't get his badges this week so he's going to open a ticket, I had to lol at that one.
Back on topic, nothing is more stressful and hard as tanking (except pugs), dps may be fun but its nowhere near as rewarding. I'd suggest you try it again but this time you put the group together. The majority of the people in this game aren't like that, it is a shame that a few of those types give the rest of the so called hardcore raiders a bad name.

Tanking is hard. I can't say I've ever seriously done it but I know that if the tank made a mistake you explain what he did wrong. If he keeps doing it long after you explain then that's when you get angry.

It's the things like this that crossed my mind when I was naming my guild, <Memento Mori> remember that you will die. Important with its real life implications but WoW as well, remember that you
WILL
die, its going to happen. If you are the type to get @#$%ed over a wipe you should think about quitting, sure its frustrating but
it is a game
and a wipe will,
WILL
happen sooner or later, best you just get used to the idea because someone, somewhere is going to make a mistake and its time for another corpse run, take the time to evaluate if this should really be causing your blood pressure to escalate and what you should do about those bulging veins in your neck.
I should stop ranting now I guess.
