So i'm leading a group to Kara soon this week. I was wondering how much DPS each class can pull out. That way i can assess the teams performance better after the raid.
Team:
Prot Paly, Feral Druid
Disc Priest, Holy Paly
Ret Paly, MS Warrior, BM Hunter, MM Hunter, Warlock (can't remember his spec)
So assuming basic entry level Kara gears, skilled and solid shot rotation, how much DPS should I expect from my dps'ers?
Also since i'm clueless about anything but a mage and prot paly. I'd like to know what a solid shot rotation for different classes are.
I'd appreciate your help

While we are on the subject, what addon would you guys recommend to track my DPS. I typically run a tank warrior though I have a MM/Surv hunter as well.

Recount while in game.
WWS (
www.wowwebstats.com
) for post-raid analysis

Yeah recount is very useful. I still haven't figured how to use WWS tho.

WWS is a web tool to upload combat logs and analyze them. You need to have the combat logs of your fight/raid/whatever for it to be able to do anything.
Combat log can be turned on/off by using "/combatlog", however there are a number of mods that automatically turn logging on/off depending on what instance you are in which largely cuts down the hassle.
Once you have the combat log (in your wow/logs directory) use the WWS client to upload them to the server (you need an account for that, is free).
More help on the WWS website/forum.

Last Kara run I went on, me and the Rogue in the group had about 800 dps according to recount. The rogue was pretty well geared, and I was wearing a good amount of pvp gear still. That being said, it is more important that the tank isn't squishy, and the healers are on the ball. Actually have a screenshot of the damage charts, but I sadly don't know how to link it lol

One thing I noticed is your lack of interrupts for shade of aran encounter. If his mana runs out before his health, he'll polymorph everyone, drink, and instant pyroblast everyone for ~7k damage. That combined with the elementals attacking you could be problematic. (You can interrupt him when he's drinking, but it won't help much. He'll just use a mana potion and pyroblast you all anyways.)

/agree with reignofarrows. We usually roll 1 rogue with us just for interrupts on Julianne in Opera since I swear we are cursed with getting that one EVERY time, and shade.
I hate the pyroblast, I hate it I hate it.....

warrior pummle has the same cooldown as a rogue, feral druids I think can also interrupt, have each one take a school such as warrior on frost druid on fire and ignore the arcane, might be okay.

Feral druids do not have an interrupt, only a stun.

Yeah, good point. I completely forgot about her, lol. Her eternal affection heals for like 50k so it's important to interrupt all of them.

Right thanks for the advices. Also i forgot to add that this is only our first raid together, so my aim is clear to Curator or something. Shouldn't be too hard, with some of these team members being either alts or part of the first team. So we've got experiance, the tanks and the healers are decently geared.
Our main aim for this second team is to lessen to dps gap between our most geared ones and our lesser geared ones. Also it'd help people feel more involved as a guild. Which is always good.

Feral Charge
is what then, resto?Because having a feral druid don't do any dps in order to be able to use feral charge for interrupts is really worth it ?
The feral PvP gloves might be an alternative though, not sure wether it works well in PvE or not.
Anyway, if you don't have enough interrupts, then just do without. Just time things so you don't get the elementals and polymorph at the same time, have everyone over whatever amount his pyro hits and ready to pop potion+stone, and then continue as before.
