What do you guys think about the new 10/25 raids.

In Wrath, you there will be a option to do a 10 man or 25 man version of the raid.
So, its like an option to do Sunwell as a 10 man or 25 man.
I'm sorry I can't give any other info, I recently found out, but maybe we could discuss it here.
I personally do not like the idea that you can 10 man the Lich King, its like 10 maning Illidan. It just doesn't seem right.
These guys are very powerful bosses, they should be killed by 25, not 10.
I really don't care about loot, the 25 versions will have better loot than the 10s, loot really isn't that big of a deal.
Thoughts?
(BTW, i am not a hardcore raider, I haven't even done any content past Mag / ZA. I respect people who get to kill the bosses in MH, BT, and SW.)

In some ways it will be nice, but I'm still pretty wary of it. My guild is 5/6 3/4 but sometimes we lack raid sign ups because we are a very much RL oriented guild so it would be cool to take 10 people who did sign up and run a raid that isn't Kara or the WotLK equivalent.

From the way I read the 10/25 man raid situation is that the instance will have a 10 man version and a larger, more extensive 25 man version. Not that it would be identical instances just made harder for 25 man's.
Think of it like a few of the heroics where a boss is only available on the heroic version (Shattered Halls & Sethekk halls).
This means that while you can do the instance with the Lich king in it, but you can only 'unlock' him on the 25 man version.
They way I read it was the opposite. Exactly same place except tuned for 10/25 ppl accordingly, and quality of loot dropping accordingly.
I quite welcome the idea. I'm all for running 25's with my guild, and 10's with my mates.

The preview explicitly says that 10-man's won't have the same dungeon. If anything, you won't get access to the last boss on 10-man. Also, the loot tables will be completely different, and 25-mans will be quite noticeably harder (say, Utgarde Keep 10-man will be like current ZA, while the 25-man will be current BT / Sunwell difficulty, and related drops to match both).
To answer the OP, I think it's awesome. What Blizzard has learned through Vanilla and now TBC is that people do actually want to experience the end-game PvE content and not have to raid 3-4 times a week to get there. Blizzard will be making the game both more casual AND more hardcore friendly at the same time. From the sounds of it, this is a brilliant move; we only have to wait to see if it really delivers.

I see nothing wrong with having 10 man raids, kara and ZA for example. I think in Wrath there should be more 10 mans, but they should be separate from the 25 mans.
The most powerful bosses getting killed by 10 people makes them
weaker
, I don't care if you say they will be stronger in the 25 man version, if they get killed by only 10 people, they are
weaker
.
The whole idea of WoW (pretty much) is to follow the story line, which involves killing powerful "bad guys".
It ruins it if a group of 10 can kill the same person that a group of 25 work to kill.
We all pay the same amount of money, but there are so many things I can't do, or was not able to do, or that I don't have the time / skill to do, that I would like to do, that I can't because of the game mechanics. I am fine with that, and realize that the amount of money I pay does not equal the amount of content I can do. I am fine with that, and I do what I can, while working hard to do more.

I think having 2 different versions of a raid is nice. They all have the same bosses but the 25 mans will have more loot than the 10 man version. Sometimes its really hard for small guilds to get enough people to do those 25 mans. Can't tell you how amny times a run has been cancelled due to lack of raiders. My guild welcomes this idea with open arms and beer. Lots and lots of beer.

I have a question, would you be content with more 10 man raids? More raids like kara and ZA. I would be fine with that.
I think if there could be 3 or 4 10 mans that would be great for small-ish guilds.

Blizzard want any old 10-man pug of PvP retards to be just as able to kill Arthas as a dedicated 25-man PvE guild is. I despise it, but it is no surprise. The game has been taking one step after the other in that direction.

^ Agree ^
But like I said before, I want their to be more ZA like instances rather than 10/25 ones. The 10s should be separate from the 25s.

Think it's a bit silly that people will be abel to do encounters like Arthas with 10 people. It won't bring the same "epic" feeling when you do it first with 10 people to learn the basics for the boss encounter, and than do it the "heroic" way later.
