This guy
my pride and joy. I farmed relentlessly (at level btw) when I found out the dungeon was changing in Cata. Never got
Deadman's Hand
though. Lost 3-4 loot rolls on it.
Wow, that is VERY impressive. Kudos to you!

On my two oldest toons I found many items that are no longer acquirable in the game but particular favs are
some groovy footwear
and the now obsolete
Scepter of Celebras
(oldest toon) and Linken's
sword
and
boomerang
, a set of
Thieves' Tools
and a pair of
ruby shades
on the other.

Swift Alliance Steed
.
Actually, I changed faction (for the third time), so it's the
Swift Horde Wolf
. It doesn't look as good as the Steed, IMO.
Also, being horde and possessing
this
ought to be rare, right?

I have and use
Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers
as a Transmog for my ranged weapon. I have
Lok'delar, Stave of the Ancient Keepers
as well. I am not logged in so I'm just going from memory...but my main (created the day the game went live back in 2004) probably has a bunch of old/rare items in the bank. I had a habit of not throwing stuff away.

The part that makes me the most sad is that alot of the hard to get items from the past were thrown away due to a lack of space to keep them. Void storage was a great addition, but that is no good on the unique items that must remain in your bank until you needed the space to put the 500,000 cooking mats needed to level that profession or transmog gear or the...... fill in the blank there...

I have the Competitor's Tabard and Spirit of Competition too. I think they're more common than we give them credit for, since a really large number of subscribers were active on WoW during that event and they were particularly easy to get.
Oh and just for the record, if you have the Feat of Strength unlocked for the Competitor's Tabard event on your account, you can still get them for free at the Tabard Vendor in your faction's major cities (which also unlocks the feat on your character if it hasn't been unlocked yet for that particular one.) You can also safely destroy it if you need bag space, and just go back to the Tabard Vendor if you want another one.
Also, I used the Spirit of Competition a lot when I first started pet battling in MoP, and it's actually a pretty decent pet to use early on, but later I caught a
Spawn of Onyxia
at rare quality and it's served me better in battles than the Spirit. They're actually quite similar, but I think the Onyxia one just has a better moveset and a better healing ability.
Baby Blizzard Bear
from the 4th anniversary might be a bit more rare than those... I have this pet as well. Haven't leveled it much, though... the Feline Familiar (from Hallow's End) is my preference for battles when it comes to beast-type pets.
On some of my old toons (which still exist, but I'm not active on them anymore due to bad memories and old drama) on the Earthen Ring realm, I have this as well:
Crashin' Thrashin' Racer Controller
. There is a blue version of this that's still available from a vendor so you can get the achievement for Winter Veil (though it's not required for the meta) but this one was the original.
I used to farm rare items and recipes on occasion in the past, usually while bored...on some of my old toons, I've found things like
Pattern: Robes of Arcana
but I either used them on my toons or sold them on the AH, so I don't have any more available. I remember occasionally hanging out with the great socialite Haris Pilton to receive her Ruby Shades as well, and I've made money selling those on the AH before, too, before they were discontinued.
I have
Gnomeregan Pride
and
Darkspear Pride
on some toons from when I played on PvP realms. I don't really play them anymore though. These were from the transitional event between Wrath and Cata.
Sadly I don't really have anything super-rare...also I still need to get Thunderfury for the spam...one day :P

I came upon this thread while searching for something about inventory being recorded to upload to WoWHead but i guess that was never created.
There is the
Wowhead client
:
The Wowhead Client is a little application we use to keep our database up to date, and to provide you with some nifty extra functionality on the website!
It serves 2 main purposes:
1.It maintains a WoW addon called the Wowhead Looter, which collects data as you play the game!
2.It uploads the collected data to Wowhead in order to keep the database up-to-date!
And newly added for
Wowhead Patrons
, the
Bag Scanner Tool
:
Welcome to our Bag Scanner, where Wowhead Patrons can run an in-game addon and export the items from bags and banks into lists on Wowhead!
With that data, you can:
◾View all the items in your bags, bank, void storage, and guild bank tabs, separated into different lists.
◾Share your item lists with others by giving them the URL. You can mark some tabs (or the whole list) private as well.
◾Filter item searches against items in your personal bags, your guild bank, or both.
◾Notice on item pages when you have that item in any of your lists.

Invocation of the Dawn
Seems to have an exceedingly low dropchance, not to mention that it (the particular texture/color) will become unaviable once WoD is out since noone will run lvl 90 Tier 15 LFR.
