Giving people a 90?

Everyone who has worked hard to do so is getting a small slap in the face.
For the second time, you only get ONE toon to boost to 90, and its not any different than the current Recruit-a-Friend and Scroll-of-Resurrection promotions that allow you to do the same already right now. Stop acting like a prima donna drama queen.
I am doing no such thing...
Are you sure? You are calling a feature that is already in the game (right now, you can use a Scroll of Resurrection for a friend who wishes to come back and this friend will get a free boost on any character he or she chooses all the way from 1 to 85) a slap in the face.
That's a little overdramatic don't you think? This feature is actually quite old, the Scroll of Resurrection, along with the Recruit a Friend, and neither has impacted the game in a negative way, nor does it make your acomplishments feel less meaningful. You are making a big fuss over a small detail.
You say it's just one level 90... granted, but do you forget the fact that there will be 1000 90's whom know nothing about the class they are playing?
So? they will have ten levels to learn the ropes. Again, this is no different than the thousands of players who get an immediate boost to 85 thanks to the scroll of resurrection.
I believe it takes time to learn your toons strengths and weaknesses hence the idea of leveling from 1 and gaining the talents one by one. Not all together in one fowl swoop.
While I agree with you, again, I must reiterate to you that this is not anything new, they've been around for almost 2 years now, with the scroll of resurrection and the recruit-a-friend system. Furthermore, the new level cap is 100, not 90, you still have 10 levels to learn your class, its strengths and weaknesses, and as a final touch, now we have a tool we didn't before: Proving Grounds, which will provide the new barrier of entry for fivemans and LFR raids, and this tool is quite good at explaining how to use your class, and how to effectively tank or heal.
With all these tools at your disposal, as well as 10 levels to learn the ropes of your class, your wild claims that the servers will be overflooded with poor players are unfounded. Besides, EVERYONE needs to re-learn their classes from scratch at the start of most expansions. Most warlocks had to forget everything they knew about their rotation at the start of MoP and had only 5 levels to learn everything again. How is this any different?
Seeing as you are one of the sites administration the way you are coming at me shows you have little knowledge of how to deal with people whom have different opinions then your own.
I do suggest learning people skills. It isn't right to call people names when you are in such a position.
Not a professional way to deal with someone. It reflects negatively upon the site itself.
Very well, allow me to sincerely apologize if I offended you. Having said that, I still believe you are overreacting to this, specially since this has been around for quite some time due to the aforementioned promotions of SoR and RaF.
Also I'm nowhere near close to the position of administrator of the site lol :P I'm just a humble localizer who translates stuff to spanish.
Then the scroll of rez is uncool too :p It's a damned cheat. "Enter level up code" In my opinion. >=D
By the way, yous guys wouldn't need an Italian or Japanese Translator would you? Sorry off topic.

I have a feeling it's only going to unlock if you already have a level 90; just like how DK's do not unlock till you have a level 55.
If that was the case then I would be all for it. You put the work in for it, I can see them giving you another level 90. I am going to make myself a Brew master ^_^ How are they tanking wise? I haven't looked them up yet.

Noted, sorry for that as well. Didn't mean to annoy.

I think that people who think this is a bad thing are overreacting. I have a 90 of every class, none were difficult to level, the only reasoning behind leveling these classes were to see how they played at level cap. If someone wants to get into WoW, and experience the new expansion's content, they shouldn't have to level through 90 levels of old content if they simply want to experience the new content. I'm personally going to use it to get a 90 horde on a different server simply because many friends I have raided with are now horde, and most of their characters are horde. I fail to see any downside in having a free 90.

Forgive me if this comes off as jerkish, but if it is open to absolutely everyone, including brand new, fresh, never played before players, I will have every chat channel turned off in the 90-92 zone. Helping out new players in starter zones is one thing, being inundated in a late game zone is quite another.

I'm going to use it to burn one of my bank alts up for professions. Maybe make her an alchemist for another set of CDs, but this is all dependant on the prof. changes. As to the dungeons and insta90s, that's what my guild is for, we'll run them as a guild with vent. No nooblets needed.

Oh, that reminds me. I should probably buy WoD come the 2nd month of release. My buddy was online on MoP's launch, and his experience wasn't great.

Objection! That would contradict this particular statement on why they want people to have the boost.
One common piece of feedback we’ve received from new players and those who’ve taken an extended break from the game is that World of Warcraft requires a significant time investment before they’re able to “catch up” and play with high-level friends. Design changes such as speeding up the leveling curve and features like the popular Scroll of Resurrection and Recruit-a-Friend system have proven very popular, but the issues’s only getting more challenging with each patch and expansion we release. By giving players the option to boost a character to be ready for the latest expansion content, we hope to remove some of these entry barriers and make it so anyone can pick up and enjoy Warlords of Draenor right away,
no matter how much World of Warcraft they’ve played in the past.
its no different than today's Recruit a friend or Scroll of Ressurection allowing you to bring someone to lvl 85. And its not gonna overflow the servers with bad players. This is the perfect tool for many applications.
This was my general impression as well.

Well, gear is another important factor in the equation. Just make the new 90s aware of how to hunt for loot, and we should be a-ok.

I think having a prereq of already having a 90 is an excellent idea. It would be terrible for someone that never played before to be boosted to 90, do a training ground, and then enter the world. They would be overwhelmed and put off from the game.

People who receive the recruit a friend promotion get boosted to 85 and do just fine. I think a lot of folks are over-reacting.
I would be against this idea if it was an unlimited number of lvl 90s, but its just the one, so I don't really see where the big fuss is about. Class complexity is not that hard to learn, and unlike the past, we have hundreds of tools both inside and outside the game to pick up the basics.

I think a lot of people are overreacting in terms of so many people using this feature to level a brand new toon to 90. I'm sure quite a few people will do that but at the same time I think this feature is also helpful to get toons to 90 that you didn't have time to level up in MoP due to the large amounts of dailies that people were spending on their mains. I think I have 4 or 5 90's currently but then I also have a shaman at 88 as well as 2-3 other toons around level 85. I am much more likely to get one of those toons instantly to 90 than I am to make a new toon to use it on since I already have made all the classes I ever wanted to level up with. I would think there are a lot of players who would use it in a similar way and who have toons they left behind due to all the dailies they felt obligated to do in MoP.
Berndorf, it's a one time thing, and only occurs once you've purchased the WoD client.

Yeah, I'm mucking about on a fresh BloodElf as we speak. LotRO makes for a change, but the grindiness makes Insane in the Membrane look like a day at the beach.
