: Sir Woecce, Damocles Rex
Location
: Jade Forest, Cordon Area
Scenario
: Eclipsed Chronometry
"Terribly sorry to disappoint, but we're out of time for questions," Sir Woecce said, tapping the face of his clock demonstratively. "Must be off. Damocles! Run them through, and be nice. Cheers!" With that, Sir Woecce waved and meandered away towards the edge of the barrier.
Damocles gave a heavy breath and glanced at the party. "...Very well." He crossed his arms behind his back and nodded at them. "As you might have noticed, there is something very wrong occurring here. Presumably, this is due to something in the center of these ruins, where the disturbance is greatest and began. Sir Woecce evidently seems to believe your services can aid in rectifying this." Of his own thoughts Damocles did not share, his stance carefully neutral like a bar of steel.
Raising a hand, he directed attention to the cuckoo. "That appears to be a guide made in the Age of Steel Wings, with a pre-mapped route through the ruins. We will shortly begin a concentrated advance into the ruins in order to initiate a timelock, and seal the cracks into paradox space. As we do so, most of the paradoxes will come to try and stop us. While my fellow ParCon agents and I engage them and advance, that will likely guide you through the weakest of the remaining opposition, towards the center of the ruins, and the cause of the paradox.
"You are all recorded to exist beyond this event," Damocles added in a monotone, recrossing his arms. "Of course, if you should die in this engagement, then I will have to go and eliminate your presence from this timeline's future and, potentially, past, in order to compensate."
An explosion from up the hill muted them for a moment. As the shockwave and reverberation slowly faded, Damocles nodded once. "If you have any questions, speak now."

Benjamin remained silent for the moment. Waiting until the self-proclaimed dragon ran out of breath seemed like a prudent course of action; the worst case scenario would simply see them into action where questions tended to be rather short-lived.

Brown eyes flicked to the dragon. "The Infinites are dead. Their meddling is no longer a concern. On that topic, avoid any extremely showy displays of power, lest you draw attention from the paradoxes back to your position."

"I have a question" Elthalis said and cleaned her throat. "What is the nature of the paradox and what is it we will be facing?" She asked with a tone of curiosity and professionality.

"Enough that every paradox in the area would swarm you." Damocles turned to Elthalis. "We're...uncertain. The nature of a paradox is that we are unaware of their immediate nature until they draw attention to themselves. In this instance, the number of denizens in the cordon area prevented any scouting."

Damocles shifted his weight to his right side. Eyes as hard as stone glittered from over his collar. "They are people and objects who do not belong in this timeline, and thus alters it. Their presence puts undue strain on the timeline as it must compensate for this, and should too much strain exist the timeline will snap and break. That is why they cannot be tolerated.
"They come in different varieties. Some are people or creatures attempting to flee their own timelines for various reasons, others are abnormalities in history. And some are unsanctioned objects that manipulate time on their own."

The blood elf shifted impatiently, his gaze expectantly fixed at the location of the most recent explosion. He seemed not to listen to the conversation, at least not with any regard for what was being said.

: Damocles Rex

Scenario
: Eclipsed Chronometry
Damocles hefted his shotgun over a shoulder and eyed the group blandly. "Based on what I now know, probability indicates that you will fail and more than likely die horribly. This will be unfortunate, as it will then require additional paperwork and wasted effort. But the Directors methods are mystery, while you are only history, and I must respect his tactical decision." Reaching out a hand, Damocles tapped the bird on the breast three times. A spark flashed from the man's finger, invading the birds form and beginning a low grinding sound, like gears struggling against one another. A moment of twitching and jerking beget its functioning, and a moment later the cuckoo looked around with frantic interest. From the clock on its chest came a dull ticking, each time it did the small bird glowing a dull yellow light.
Nodding as the cuckoo began chirping curiously in artificial mimicry of its namesake, the ParCon agent addressed the group. "You will wait for the signal of our attack," he said even as he turned and headed for a hill. "Then let the cuckoo go. Follow it, and don't let it out of your sight."
