1. Magic absortion is many times better than Arcane Fortitude.
2. Range is always good in PVP. Where's Magic Attunement?
3. Speaking of which, no Torment The Weak? It's almost a permanent 12% damage boost, since Slow will almost always be up.
4. Which leads us to Arcane Subtlety and 30% dispel resist, which makes harder for Slow to be dispelled.
Also, keep in mind that while Arcane might be really good now, it's probably not gonna be as good in 2 weeks time. You were warned. :)

Hey Nickseng. First I wanted to say I've enjoyed the thread.
For me, I just moved from Frost to Arcane spec at the suggestion of my Guild Leader. It's really been fun.
I've played my Mage only on BG's since the switch and so far and am getting a lot more damage with arcane then I did with frost (when I stay alive at least).
I understand and respect your decision to delay updates until the expansion but I'm going to come back and have a look again a couple of weeks after it's out.
Since my mage just reached 70 not too long ago, my armour and such is still fairly pathetic. When I hit BG's, I'm an easy target - especially for rogues who seem to kill me before I can get a single action going. Like I say, armour is definitely a part of the issue here.
One thing I want to try is to team with a rogue or maybe a druid (I've seen mages in the BG who I can take one on one but can barely touch if they are teamed with a rogue).
Any other suggestions on this?
Another bug for me is Warlocks who delight in DOTing me then sitting back and watch my health disintegrate to nothing over 5 to 20 seconds. How do we as Arcane mages avoid this?
Yes, I admit, I am a NOOB when it comes to BG's with a Mage so I won't take offence if you talk slow and use small words :-P

In BG, it's all about luck and composition. You're rarely gonna find a 1 on 1 duel.
But when you do ...
Againts, a rogue, it's important to keep him Slowed at all times. Have Ice Armour at all times, and remember when things go bad, you can always insta-invisibility.
The key againts most melee is to kite them as much as possible, using Arcane Barrage whenever it's up. With rogues, this is much harder, as they have much much more way to kill you than most melee.
To be totally honest, Arcane mages aren't as good againts melee (especially rogues) as frost mage, so this comes down to a bit of luck.
We're much better off againts locks. Take Magic absorbtion, and keep Mage armor on at all times, and you'll make it harder for the lock to kill you.
As with the rogue, keep him Slowed at all times, and keep moving. Sooner or later, you'll wear the Lock down.

Try using Fireball in your rotation instead of Arcane Blast.

Hey man, when I hit 80 I plan on getting the arena gear and doing bg's with this spec

I specced just enough into fire so I can get Pyroblast (for Pom Pyro). And I manage to juggle between using mana gems and evoc and i almost never have to drink.
enjoy :)

Arcane Focus
Arcane Missiles
These are outdated, along with a few other spells you linked.
Also:
Arcane isn't Easy
Buck for buck, Arcane is a lot harder to play well compared to Fire and Frost, as there are so many things we need to keep track of.
In which way is it harder?

First of all let me /congratulate you for this guide. In my opinion the new arcane tree is the WOTLK mage inovation because it overwrites the mage pvp way. we now are always on the move, the mobility gives us a good survivability and the burst damage is almost insane ( it will get better after the 3.0.8 patch)...it is just very different than the old static "i must stop to cast" way (i dont say better, just different).
My build for PVP will be something like this

All hail the arcane way and the new patch

My biggest question is how important for raiding is 6 yards?
As long as you have good reaction skills, not too much, probably. The 6 yard does provide some buffer for error, so it's a useful to have, but not absolutely essential.
Oh, and if you really want to get MOE ... I'd suggest getting Frost Chanelling instead, as MOE doesn't work well with stacked ABs.
