I noticed the report lag this morning for me as there were 20 some from 1 hooker bot that did not clear until after I reported them all and was working on the fake document ones I saw.

I was actually around when you were reporting them and they weren't displayed to me. This most likely is just a cache issue that we experience from time-to-time. Usually it happens because you saw them already but they're almost always hidden to others who hadn't yet loaded the page.

Ah, I see. It just is that most of the time I do a report or 2 and BOOM the account is gone. Sometimes, like this morning, even with page refreshes they don't seem to clear.

There are definitely some cache issues. Sometimes I see e.g. one thread in the Latest Topics, but their Post count is higher. Usually the profile shows all threads, but lately I have been checking adjacent thread IDs more often to find repu... er reportable threads, sometimes even stumbling upon a lone kitchen thread amongst a cluster of escorts which didn't show up at all.
This could just be the auto-hide partially working (or rather not working completely yet) but it seems quite weird.

I'm really starting to think that there should be a new rule that if you are under 150 rep you can't create more then one thread a day. This spam is getting idiotic.

That is a really good idea, in my opinion. I would support that.
I cannot think of any possible negative, unintended consequences.

Okay I've been getting a weird bug lately; I'll report something and it says that I already reported it..but it's the first time I've clicked on it.

Same. Noticed this some days ago but first wrote it off to my imagination, getting confused over the number of open tabs or my RSS feed acting up, but now I definitely had this on a thread I did not open before.
Just clicking the OK button again, without reloading the page or anything, then gives the success message.
edit
Just got this again on thread 234843, though I assume this is a client-side/JS issue.

Does Off-Topic not appear in the
Latest Topics
?

I've also been having the "You've already reported this topic" issue.
Spammers were really at it today too, they even spammed in sections they normally leave alone. Bastards are getting cheeky.

Huh. Thought it was just me but I am having the same issue as well.
I actually believed it was due to my infuriating, Logitech mouse. Apparently, after some time, "static" builds up inside the mouse (according to the Logitech help forums) and somehow disrupts the button's clicking ability. So, in short, my mouse OFTEN double-clicks. It also un-clicks when I'm highlighting something and it's infinitely annoying... but it feels SO good to vent about it.
P.S. I dislike Logitech mice..

Any update on the 'you have already reported this' bug? It's starting to get really annoying.

I'd consider making an independent thread for it so dev's will see it. I could be wrong but I doubt they frequent this thread.

Want to buy Upvote button for comments.
Alternate rule suggestion: Any new user who is reported 3 times gets an instant temp ban
I know that if a thread is reported 5 times it goes away, but this relies on 5 distinct users being on and reporting threads. If I see 10 threads from rumbajim advertising couple-sex countertop dates in Mumbai, reporting 3 of his threads myself should trigger something, other than putting a tick on the ban-counter which needs 4 more users to contribute to.
This would speed up the trash removal and prevent the reputation bloat.

Five reports hides spammer content. It doesn't require 5 different people. If you yourself report five different threads from the same spammer the content is hidden.

Ooooooh. Thanks, Sas. I guess there is some sort of system delay then, or delay on my end because I can see spam and eggs everywhere for quite a while after I start reporting. I assumed it was because more user reports were needed.

No problem. :)
This is typically cache related. When I go to remove content and delete things it often reappears for me even though it's no longer visible to others. But, once the system 'ticker' receives those 5 reports then it 'soft-deletes' the posts and prevents new ones from being made until a moderator reviews the account. Anything you're seeing I often refer to as an 'echo.'
