I used to use Steam when I played Counterstrike back in the day. Now I have less time for games, so WoW is where I spend what time I do have. I really liked the idea that if I own a game, I can download it any time I want. Very handy for scratched discs, lost game media, or just convenient if you're at a LAN party and want to play something you forgot to bring with you. Great way to keep all your game keys in one place.
I use steam for counterstrike and that's all.. mainly play wow.
I use Steam for games such as Team Fortress 2. Otherwise the only games I play are WoW and League of Legends.
I've been using Steam since HL2. I don't know exactly, but I probably have 20 games through them. Not having discs is nice.
Yes, I use Steam and have a few games on it - the offers they have on it are alright from time to time.
I use Steam. Took a while for a friend to get me to download it and such, but I've enjoyed it ever since. It's incredibly convenient for one thing, and some of the deals and sales Steam puts out can be mindblowing at times. They also have a wide range of supported games, including some pretty old titles. It's also simple and not intrusive with my time on the computer. The ability to access my games in a cloud format is also incredibly convenient.
Yes,I use steam because it makes downloading games more easier and I play Team Fortress 2 with my friends.
I used to use Steam very much back in the days, but today I barely use it at all.
I use Steam. I think that it's a great way to buy games. It makes life easier for us lazy bastards who don't want to go out just to buy a game.
No, I dont use Steam or any similar services.
No, I don't. I even stopped buying new titles of TWO of my favorite game series (Civilization and the german X-Series) when the devs of both announced that those new titles would only be playable with a steam account. I don't like some of the things steam does, like forcing updates on the user, whether they want them or not, for instance. There are games (like WoW) where this may be acceptable or even mandatory because everyone is playing on the same server and thus needs to have the same game version, but it certainly is NOT necessary for purely single-player games like the X-Series. I also don't like some of the things I've heard about valve's awful customer service, although I admit that I don't know if those reports are true; but then again, I don't really want to find out if they're true by experiencing it myself. While I am not opposed to the idea of digital distribution systems in general (I could sort of say that I use battle.net as one since I haven't bought hard copies of any Blizzard games for many years), none of the most popular ones currently in existence have so far fulfilled the requirement of being customer friendly in my opinion.
I have downloaded Steam but only used it once. I just don't have much time for video games and WOW is my priority for the limited playing time I do have.
Yes I do. I use both Stream and Origin. I also use a lot of Blizzards product and downloading them online, however Blizzard does not have a program to download through.
I do have Steam, ever since they published Half-Life 2 I think it was, bought a few games since then and downloaded them. I would install pretty much any other program like it, if it makes it easier and more comfortable for me to buy and download the games that I like. Buying boxed games in stores is just way too oldschool, I'd rather download them or order them from any online store.
251 games on steam and 2 software.Origin for Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2/3 because I was FORCED to by EA.
Steam to play games when WOW is down. Very useful and easy. The payment and download system is very straightforward.
I use Steam because it's so well polished and user friendly. I have a couple others installed such as EA's Origin, which is terrible, and Ubisoft's Uplay, which is mediocre, but passable. Mostly Steam's big drawcard is that it isn't limited to any one developer; it's kind of your One Stop Shop. Origin is just poorly coded, buggy, laggy, you name it.
I use steam most of the time when I'm eager to acquire myself a new game. They're always cheaper on services like Steam then they would be in the stores like Gamestop.
I am using Steam just because some of the games I buy require it to be installed. (Like Call of Duty) Never used it for anything else.
Nope, only playing WoW on mac. For the rest i use consoles.
